Hi I'm Rebecca!

I'm married! I'm a musician! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I recently got married in the Oquirrh Mountain temple in Utah! Woot! I feel very strongly that we can be united eternally as families if sealed by God's authority and only as we live worthily. I served a mission in Washington state and have a degree in music (piano specifically). I like to run, play racquetball and wallyball, and watch the rain fall through the window. I love to wear mismatched socks and flip-flops (...not at the same time...). I love my family and friends and just being with people in general.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that He lived, died, and lives today. I know that His gospel is the way to peace and happiness in this life, no matter what worldly circumstances may be, and true joy for eternity. Because of what Christ has done for me, I get a second chance. I get a second chance... and a third chance... and as many do-overs as I want as long as I am still willing to keep trying. I am a Mormon because I prayed to know if it was true- and God answered that prayer and has told me, in His own way and time, that it is. In fact, He reminds me all the time that it is true. I could not deny even if I wanted to. And because I know it is true, I know I can be with my family forever and I will do whatever God requires of me to have that.

How I live my faith

Each adult member of the church participates in something called home teaching (for men) and visiting teaching (for women). It is an inspired system of watchcare. Everyone is given a few people to visit at least monthly and keep in contact with. If and when a need arises, action can be taken very quickly because everyone is being personally visited and cared for. It's ingenious; I love it. That's just one example of what the typical member does to develop Christlike love.
