Hi I'm Kimball

I am an architect, entrepreneur, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of three, and an architect. I love all three of my jobs and try to keep them in that order. I like sports, working outdoors, and spending time with my family. I really like modern architecture. I like things that are simple and beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me in all aspects of my life. It answers a lot of questions about our purpose here on earth and where we are going after death. It gives us a chance to BECOME better people as we follow Jesus. The Book of Mormon and the Bible together provide a more complete view of Christ's mercy, grace, and commandments. It is also reassuring to know God has not left us alone. He provides living prophets to guide us through situations unique to our day that may not have been so prevalent in biblical times. The prophet provides direction from God for our day and our challenges. Bottom line--it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I do my best to share the gospel with people around me so they can find what I have found--happiness and understanding of God's plan. I do this by example to the people I work with and associate with. I try to be a good neighbor and help others whenever I can in my community, within the church, and by serving in organizations that promote good.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Kimball
The scriptures teach us that the Holy Ghost will show us ALL things which we should do. If we can learn to listen to, feel, and follow the Holy Ghost, it will provide comfort, peace of mind, guidance, and reassurance that we are making the right choices. It will help us with the difficult decisions in this life, and ultimately help us find peace. Think of the Holy Ghost as a spiritual GPS global positioning system. It provides direction and instructions to help us find our way back to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Kimball
First and foremost, it is to follow the example of Jesus Christ who showed us the way be being baptized by John the Baptist. Second, it is a chance for us to have our sins washed away and have a new start on life as a follower of Jesus. Third, we make a promise to Jesus that we are going to follow him for the rest of our lives. Baptism is a covenant or commitment. We have to be committed to follow Jesus and realize it isn't something we can do when it is convenient--we have to follow him all the time. We are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ by some who has authority to act on his behalf. In this way, we take upon us his name much like when we are born, we take upon us the name of our parents. And as part of his family, he takes care of us as his children. I think it is necessary that baptism is a physical act to remind us that we made this commitment. Even with a bad memory, it is hard to forget that you went down into the water and were immersed as a sign that you were willing to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
