Hi I'm Czar Smith

I'm a Software Engineer, private pilot, father of 5, and owner of a home mortgage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the military as one of six children. My early life was spent moving around the United States and "vacationing" in Europe while my father was stationed in Munich Germany. We had many grand adventures in my father's enormous Ford Comfort Coach van. I managed to survive the early years and graduate from High School in Kansas. I attended college for a year and then went to serve a mission for the church in Santa Catarina, Brazil. After my mission, I went back to college and graduated with a beautiful wife, two kids, and a degree in Civil Engineering. I now have 5 children and live in the suburbs of Omaha Nebraska. I write software for the United States Strategic Command based at Offutt Air Force Base. I basically just go to work and then spend the evenings with my family. I used to have hobbies like skiing and soccer, but those have both been replaced with little kid baseball games and piano lessons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon church. My parents taught me to pray and seek knowledge from before I learned to talk. Thanks to their diligence, I've been able to develop a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer and through studying his words in the scriptures. Now I know for myself that he lives, and that I will return to the presence of God with my wife and children if I stay true to the light and knowledge that I have received. I live every day to try to become who I know I should be. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he has restored his church to the earth in order to help me and everyone else become like him.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. I start each day by identifying something that I need to change in my life and then I spend the rest of the day trying to meet that goal. Of course, half of the time I forget about it until the day is already over, and the other half of the time I try and fail. Still, I know that the Lord will compensate for my failures provided that I always do my best to follow him. My faith influences every decision I make. It helps me determine how I spend my time and money, which movies I watch, which birthday parties my children attend, and what I choose to do on Sunday. I believe there's almost always a "right" answer to every decision which is the answer the Lord would give me if I asked him the question. I constantly strive to understand the will of the Lord and do it. I know that our Heavenly Father desires his children to be happy and that He will lead me in that direction if I'm willing to walk with him.
