Hi I'm Mathilde

I'm French, I'm a student, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a French student, working on my master in English Translation. I love to travel and have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to many places, and to spend a year in Oslo, Norway, for my studies. I'll soon be moving to Canada for a year to continue my studies. I love watching movies and tv shows, reading, and baking. I've played the flute for 10 years, sang in a choir and played in my school's orchestra and jazz band.

Why I am a Mormon

I had known about the church for about three years when I started meeting with missionaries. By that time, I had made many friends who were Mormons, and though I was not interested in baptism at first, I enjoyed learning about my friends' faith. Little by little, however, I realized that being around members of His Church, learning about His gospel and starting to make better decisions in my life made me happier and filled a void that had been a burden for too long. Happiness was really what made me want to be baptized. I know this is His Church and that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet called by God. I know that Joseph Smith also was a prophet and I know that God loves us, that we are His children and that he wants our happiness. My testimony of those things is what helps me go through the difficult times in my life and what helps me keep His commandments. And it is the greatest blessing I could ever ask for.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by coming to church every Sunday. I try to participate in as many activities with other young people of the church as possible, which helps me to both make friends and learn more about His gospel. I also participate in musical events or during meetings by playing the flute. Through visiting teaching, I hope to be able to help other women in the Church any way I can. I have been very blessed with the opportunity of working on the website of the church, lds.org, and through it I am able to contribute to the edification of His children. And most importantly, I try my best to follow His commandments.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Different Mormons can have very different lifestyles. They live in different countries, in different cities, they go to different schools, study and work in various fields. Their family situations vary and the challenges they face in life are also all very different. But what Mormons have in common is that they go to church every Sunday, study the scriptures, pray to Our Heavenly Father, and strive to keep His commandments. They put great worth in family, friendship and community. They believe in Our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness and want to share it with everyone, through rendering service in their community and in society. There is not one specific Mormon lifestyle, simply a shared faith in God and a shared way of demonstrating this faith in their daily lives. Show more Show less
