Hi I'm Darci

I'm a wife, a recent college graduate, and a lover of baking, crafting, and chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty typical girl living a pretty terrific life. I've been married for two years now to the most amazing man and my very best friend. We recently moved to Spokane, Washington so that he can pursue a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. I graduated not too long ago with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders and Spanish. I work in a pediatric clinic where we treat children with speech, language, and cognitive difficulties. I absolutely LOVE it! When I'm not working I love to try out new recipes in the kitchen, run (to compensate for eating everything I bake :) and I recently started learning how to sew. Life is wonderful and I'm loving every minute of it!

Why I am a Mormon

This is a question I've thought about a lot. I grew up in a family that is all very strong in the Mormon faith. While I recognize that my upbringing had a big impact on me, that's not entirely why I continue to live the gospel in my life today, long after I moved out of my parents' home. I'm a Mormon today because I've had countless experiences which have solidified my testimony in God the Father, his son Jesus Christ, and the marvelous plan that they have for each and every one of us. Like everyone else, I worry about the future, my family, my job, and all the other ups and downs in my life. But through it all I have an inner peace that someone greater than I sees who I am and who I can become, and that He is truly guiding my path. Sometimes its not easy to trust that this marvelous plan God and his son Jesus Christ have for me will work out, but I'm continually learning and growing in my ability to lean on them. The more I do, the more I feel that inner peace and God's love for me. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith is a huge part of my everyday life. I need that constant support and guidance, so I find many opportunities every day to seek it. I pray several times a day, read the scriptures and the words of our living prophets and apostles, and try to find ways to serve other people. On Sundays, I get to teach the young women, ages 12-13. It has been a great blessing to be a mentor and a friend to these youth, especially as they are facing some of the biggest decisions of their lives. Other than that, I just try to be a good person and to be a good example of a believer of Jesus Christ.
