Hi I'm Melanee

I'm a wife, a mommy, a homemaker, and a daughter of my Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated college with a degree in Child Development and a few months later married my best friend. We were sealed in the temple and know that we can be together as a family for eternity. I love being a wife and am extremely blessed to be a mother to my little girls. I love to stay busy with many activities. I find joy in running, dancing, singing, and laughing. I love to bake and share good food with friends. I love chocolate in all forms. Music and photography makes me happy. I like to work hard and accomplish tasks, but I also like to spend time reflecting, writing, and pondering life. I'm blessed with a wonderful family, friends, and the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a family that lives the teachings of Jesus Christ. Because of their example and the knowledge of the gospel that they shared with me, I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church when I was eight years old. Since that time, I have chosen to continue to live the teachings of the Savior. As I have grown and learned more about His gospel, I have been fully converted and can't imagine life any other way. The gospel has been instilled in me and has changed my heart. I know that by living the gospel, I can become more like my Savior. I can live with my family forever. I can have an eternal marriage. I can be forgiven of my sins. I can recieve help from the Holy Ghost everyday. I can talk to my Heavenly Father everyday. I can reach my full potential because God knows what I can become and will help me along my path. Being a Mormon has given me tools to make my life more productive and live righteously. I can read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and find answers to my questions. I can also find peace in the truths contained within these books. I can listen to the counsel of a modern-day prophet who speaks on behalf of the Lord and my Father in Heaven. Being a Mormon leaves me no room to doubt or wonder what I should be doing with my life. It allows me to never be alone. It teaches me how to treat others and form meaningful relationships. It blesses me in every facet of my life. I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the truth that has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith and it is the only path by which I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and Savior and receive the blessings that they have in store for me, and everyone else who chooses to follow this path.

How I live my faith

I strive to live according to church standards so that I can serve as an example to those I come in contact with. We attend church each week with a congregation of old and young, all with the same desire to draw closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. My husband and I have been given the privilege to prepare lessons about the gospel and teach them to the members in our ward. I also participate in an organization of women who teach and care for one another. I make monthly visits to sisters in my ward and share a message of the gospel with them. I also practice Hymns on the piano so that I can contribute to meetings and gatherings through music. Most importantly, we strive to invite the Spirit into our home through daily study of the scriptures, prayer, and respectful attitudes toward our Heavenly Father and to each other.
