Hi I'm Jim

I'm a Mormon. I love my family. I relax by playing golf, watching sports, and reading classics.

About Me

I am a husband of one, I am a father of eight, and I am a grandfather of nine. My wife, Sue, and I enjoy old movies, board games, and any BYU and UT sport. So our favorite colors are Blue, White, and Orange! One room has blue carpet and another has orange paint. I have a bachelors degree from BYU and a doctorate degree from UT and so we are committed Cougars and VOLS fans. I am an engineer by trade and am now serving as an administrator at a college. We love our family and we enjoy our friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the emphasis on families and good old fashioned values. I love that there is a prophet today who speaks in the name of the Lord. I love that I am taught that I can pray to receive personal revelation and that God is a personal God, one who knows me and cares about me and my family. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Joseph Smith was His prophet to restore the fulness of the gospel again on the earth in preparation for the return of the Savior.

How I live my faith

Each day, I have personal scripture study and prayer. By connecting with God through His words and through His Spirit, I feel His power in my life. This power propels me to good deeds and keeps me safe from temptations. I serve in the Church by visiting and strengtheing other chuch units. I am also esponsible for six families in our congregation and I visit them monthly to check on their needs and share a spiritual lesson.
