Hi I'm Scott

I support the US Men's National Soccer team and dream of attending a World Cup. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm recently out of college and have just begun my career. After obtaining a masters degree, I've been able to secure employment and I enjoy my work. I love to do almost anything active and I am a voracious consumer of sports entertainment. Over the past few years I have become a massive fan of soccer and, particularly, of the United States National Soccer Team. I've traveled across the country several times to watch them play and to support them. There is something sublime about being in a stadium with thousands of your countrymen while cheering the team on to victory (hopefully!). Watching the ball hit the back of the net and celebrating with total strangers all around you is an ecstasy that I've grown to love. I grew up in a very stable and loving family. We weren't perfect but we cared about each other and tried to support one another in our trials and challenges. Someday, I want to be able to provide that for a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

Over the course of my life, I've learned how to do many things. For example, I've learned how to play several musical instruments, I've learned how to operate certain types of software, I've learned how to play several different sports. It took a lot of effort to do these things, and it often felt like I would never be able to learn what I wanted to learn. Eventually, with enough time and exertion, I was able to learn. From time to time, there were moments where everything "clicked" and all I could do was smile in gratitude. This same principle is true in my spiritual life. I've spent time learning about God and Jesus Christ through study, prayer, and through trying to live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I've definitely had moments of struggling, where it seemed like I wouldn't ever get the answers I sought for. However, I've had moments where everything clicks into place and I see clearly that God exists and that he has a plan for us, his children. These moments are as brilliant as seeing a sunrise at the top of a mountain but what exactly happens during these moments is much more difficult to explain. What is easy to explain is my firm conviction that there is a God; He is our Heavenly Father and that he sent His son Jesus Christ to redeem all those who desire to follow Him. I've come to know through

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith on a daily basis. I'm not perfect, but I try to follow the Savior's teachings in my life and in my dealings with my fellow men and women. My faith provides me with many opportunities to serve others. All members of the Mormon faith work side-by-side to help members of the congregation as well as members of the community at whole. I've had the opportunity to prepare and teach lessons on various gospel topics such as faith and charity. I've had opportunities to visit members of the congregation in their homes. I've been able to participate in service projects where homes are rebuilt, yards are cleaned up, and food is given to the needy. I've had opportunities to visit the sick and afflicted as the Savior did while on the earth. These opportunities have been very valuable to me and I love when I get chances to serve and to live my faith.
