Hi I'm Bliss Morris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father of 3, I watch my children excell in sports and pageants from the sidelines, as a coach and now that their in High School as a spectator. I spend my working hours working for a city government where I make compost that we sell to the public. In some of my spare time I DJ dances for our school district and have done weddings and other parties.

Why I am a Mormon

For generations my family has been members of the LDS Church. I grew up with my Grandfather being a Stake President and my mom beinig his rebelious oldest child. Our father left my mom and us in Alaska around 1974 or 1975 so we moved back to Mom's home town in Idaho. Single deverced mom and 4 kids that were very busy and probably quite difficult to raise. (Thank You Mom) She and the dad that raised us got married in 1976 and he was the only Dad we knew, we never heard from the original dad again. Mom and Dad got divorced in 1988. Mom stayed in Idaho Dad moved to Washington. I graduated from High School in '88 and was fed up with bad winters so I decided to move to Washington with Dad. In Idaho there were times that we went to Church and many more times that we didn't. I was always a person who believed in the Church, believed in Joseph Smith, and believed there were great people like my Grandfather in the Church. I married a young lady, when we were both 20, that was not a member of the Church but because of some great Sister Missionaries that worked with her I was able to baptize her in 1993 when she was pregnant with our first child. On our 5th anniversary we went to Idaho Falls to be sealed, with our baby boy, in the Temple where my Mom was a Temple Worker and my Grandfather had been a Sealer. We now have 3 children 2 boys and a daughter. Why am I a Mormon? I know that raising my family in the Church and helping them to learn the teachings is the best thing that i can do for them in trying to help keep them safe and to help them gain their own testimony's which they will need as the world becomes a more trying place to live. I love the Church and the people of our Ward. I love to serve them and I'm thankful for the callings I have been given and opportunities the Lord has given me to serve and grow.

How I live my faith

I spend my time chasing and trying to keep up with my children. They are very active in their school and the other activities they do. with a bust family I learned years ago that if I was going to have time for myself to study scriptures or prepare to teach lessons I would have to make time so I started getting up early before the family was awake and was able to spend some time working on my testimony. It is a great way to start the day and helps to get my mind where it should be.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Bliss Morris
Temples are the place where members first go to for themselves. They are able to get better understanding and grow closer to and feel a closeness to the Spirit. After they go for themselves members are encouraged to go back often to do the same work and receive the same learning for their deceased ancestors. Show more Show less
