Hi I'm Vaughn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My greatest achievement in my life are my 3 kids, soon to be 4. I love my wife and children dearly and my world revolves around them. One of the things I've struggled with is what I wanted to be when I grew up. I went to college and could never decide so I earned my bachelors degree in Business Management, since it seemed very general. While going to school and raising a family I worked at a bank for several years. I learned a lot but it wasn't really satisfying. I've always loved to build or fix things and I love learning new skills. While at the bank, I was offered a job to work for a small construction company and jumped on board. I loved it and it fit me. Three years later, I finally graduate college and more or less had to start my own construction company. Regarding work, it was the best thing that happened to me. I didn't plan any of it to happen but I know the Lord is watching out for me and that He knows me. Even with the bad economy where construction was hit very hard in my area, I've been blessed with lots of work. Besides work, believe it or not, some of my hobbies are still home improvements, woodworking, working on vehicles, motorcycles, and anything in between.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in two different churches and when I became an adult I choose to be a mormon. There came a time where I was wondering what I was going to do with my life, and after some serious reflection, I knelt down and said a heartfelt prayer. My prayer was answered and I knew what I needed to do. I began meeting with the missionaries and was baptized. From that time I promised my Heavenly Father that I would be a better person and do what he wanted me to do. I'm grateful that I listened, and I'm still trying to keep my promises everyday. I know that I have received so many blessings and help because I am a mormon that I wouldn't have otherwise. Being a mormon gives me so much happiness, peace, and love in my life. It helps me to continually improve myself through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I believe how someone lives their faith is very individual, but for me I live my faith by trying to be a good husband and father, teaching my children, providing for my family, helping others in my community and church, and other activities. I try to be a person that the Lord can count on, and though I am not perfect, I know there is always room for improvement. One of my favorite unknown quotes is "be satisfied enough to be happy but dissatisfied enough to improve". I know we can truely be happy while becoming more like our Savior.
