Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

My greatest joy is raising 6 children with my wife. Our children range from age 4 to 16. This creates an often chaotic and challenging life. My family is truly a blessing for me. We enjoy participating with our children in the many sporting, music, and school activities. Some of my favorite activites include hiking, camping, singing, and playing sports. We enjoy camping each year in the mountains and visiting the National Parks. Last year we camped in Zion and Redwood National Parks. This spring we are planning to visit Arches. I look forward to the hikes to Delicate Arch and through the narrow fin canyons known as Fiery Furnace. Most days, however, I work as an electrical engineer. My job keeps me busy and provides me with many challenging activities. I enjoy figuring out clever solutions to problems that I encounter. I also enjoy working with amazing people to solve problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored on the earth. Through this restoration a fullness of gospel truths and the authority of God are available in His church on earth. Living the gospel and participating in chuch activities enriches my life. I feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost as I serve other people, study the scriptures, and interact with others in uplifting activities. I receive the calm assurance that Jesus is my Savior as I attend church each week, receive instruction, and pray. Through faith in Him and repentance my sins can be forgiven and I can become clean. Jesus has shown the example and taught all mankind the path to happiness. This great blessing, of peace, joy, and forgiveness is available to all people. I know, because of the witness of the Holy Ghost and the joy that comes from living the gospel that Christ has restored his Church on earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. Today there are living prophets to guide his church. These things are gifts to me and all men from Jesus Christ to bring us eternal joy and happiness. I have had many experiences feeling the assurance by the Holy Ghost confirming truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon teaches of Christ and teaches me principles to help govern my life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He has paid the price for my sins and knows me individually. I have seen this power lift me in my life and others in their lives. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that has given me such a precious gift. As a member of Christ's church I am able to share that gift with my friends and family.

How I live my faith

Living my faith starts in my family. I seek to teach and bless my family the principles of the gospel. We seek opportunities to serve each other and to reach out and serve others in our community. I have the specific opportunity to teach and serve a few families within my local congregation. My son and I have been requested to watch over and teach these families. We visit with them and share a message with them each month in their homes. This is a great blessing for us. I have also been called to work with the cub scouts sponsored by our local congregation. My responsibility is as the cub committee chair. In this capacity I assist other cub leaders by providing, encouragement, support, and other assistance. I am also able to work with these young boys as they grow to help them reach their potential. Each day I strive to be an example in the way I live. I seek to be honest and kind. I know that I am far from perfect, but I know that by striving to live the gospel I can be an example.
