Hi I'm Rod
I'm a Mormon.
I'm a widower, father of four children, grandfather to six rowdy boys. I have a degree in Mathematics and work in Data Processing. I enjoy reading, movies, television and hunting, although I don't really like actually finding. I was married for 36 years to a wonderful woman who was called home a few years ago.
Why I am a Mormon
I originally joined the Church for purely social reasons. A group of 18-22 year old LDS students at my University loved me into the Church some forty years ago. I was what they called a "golden contact" because I didn't smoke or drink alcohol, coffee or tea and didn't really like to hang out with those who did. This group was literally "Heaven sent". They were and still are my closest friends. It took me about a year after my baptism, though, before I really considered myself converted to the Gospel. Now I can't imagine living any other life.
How I live my faith
I currently serve in my Ward as an assistant clerk. I have served in many other calling thought the years. I guess my favorite calling was when I was the Cub Master of a Cub Scout pack when my boys were of Cub Scout age.
