Hi I'm Shauna Hart

I am a native of Arizona. I am a wife, mother, composer of religious music, and a teacher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of 33 years, mother of 3 sons and 2 daughters 2 daughter in laws, 2 son in laws, and 3 grandchildren. I am currently serving as a Sacrament Meeting Chorister and Choir Director in my ward. I am a Performing Arts Director of a K-12th grade Charter School. My love is music! I feel it is the universal language that breaks down all barriers. You can become closer to God and the Savior by listening to music written about them. I have composed over 20 inspirational/religious songs. I won the top "Award of Distinction" in the 2010 LDS Church Music submission in the instrumental and other category for my song "Quest For Excellence". I also was also a finalist in the 2010 LDS Cultural Arts submission for my musical "One Heart One Purpose". This consists of 14 original songs, instrumental score, narration, and power point. It is a missionary musical the tells the story of Christ's birth, ministry, death, and resurrection and the blessings of the Restoration of His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You can learn more about my music on my website www.hartsongs.net.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church since birth. With loving parents, teachers, and leaders, I learned the basic principles of the gospel. There comes a point in everyone's life where you question whether the things you learned in your youth are really true. It was my senior year in High School that I met my eternal companion. There was one huge problem, he was agnostic and didn't care about God or religion. If you could double blind study it he would believe it. After 2 1/2 long years of me being an example, missionary lessons, young adult activities, church sports he still didn't join the church. Finally he was reading in the Book of Mormon in Moroni Chapter 10, vs.3-5. He took Moroni's challenge and knelt down and prayed. He received a profound answer that the church was true and it has taken him through 35 years with eternity to enjoy. During his missionary journey I gained my testimony of the gospel. That's why I am a huge fan of missionary work! The worth of one soul is great in the eyes of God and it sure was in my eyes. My youngest son is on a mission in Fresno California and it is wonderful to hear his stories of conversion.

How I live my faith

Every day I try to be an example of love and faith to those I come in contact with. I share my music and my testimony of the Savior to both young and old as a chorister, choir director, and performing arts teacher/director. I help the youth through my "character counts" class. I teach them to understand their worth and try to influence them to have integrity, and go the extra mile when giving service and showing love to others. I attend my church meetings with an open mind and heart so that I will be receptive to the spirit.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Shauna Hart
In the days when the Savior walked the earth there were also Temples. One day when He visited the Temple the people were defiling it with their money changing and other things not in harmony with the holiness of His house. He became angry, overturned their tables, and told them to leave His temple. Not everyone could enter the Temple then. You had to live a certain law in order to enter His Temple. Because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mormon Church, is Christ's restored gospel we have Temples today. These are places of worship that the Lord can come and dwell as He did before. The covenants you make in the Temple are not secret, they are sacred. Anyone can attend the Temple if you prepare yourself by following the plan the Lord has set forth. Ask a church member or the missionaries what is needed to prepare yourself for the blessings of the Temple. It is an integral part of the "Plan of Happiness" that the Lord has set forth for us on this earth. A chance to spend eternity with our families never to be separated by death. Show more Show less
