Hi I'm Jade

I was raised an Idaho farm-girl. I enjoy cooking and nutrition. I love being a wife and mother. I am a daughter of God.

About Me

I spent my summers working and playing the fields, and my winters building snowmen and snow forts. My favorite pastimes are holidays and vacations with my family. I enjoy reading. I also enjoy learning about healthy foods, exercise, and herbal remedies. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a wife and a mother because it helps me grow and learn how to be a better person. My family, my calling in the church, and the gospel of Jesus Christ give me purpose in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that Joseph Smith was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. My life is blessed when I live by the teaching in the Book of Mormon. I had the chance to be sealed to my family when I was 5 years old. Even though I was so young, I felt the spirit in the temple. I saw my parents attend the temple as I was growing up and felt the deep importance of attending. I now attend the temple once a month with my husband and it has blessed my life greatly and I'm sure more than I even know or understand.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I have a calling to teach 8-9 year old girls and boys about Jesus Christ. I also teach my family daily how to live the gospel, and once a week we have Family Night where we have a lesson in our home. I learn more as I teach these children and my family. I strive to read from the scriptures and The Book of Mormon daily and pray. This helps keep me close to my Father in Heaven and to better know what He would have me do in my daily and life trials. I also have a wonderful chance to listen to and read articles from our Prophet here on earth, President Thomas S. Monson and his twelve apostles. He gives guidance for all of us here on earth that he receives from the Lord Jesus Christ. I also get inspiration for my life from stories and prophets in the scriptures. We as members of the church also have the chance to do service. Jesus Christ served, and He was our example on how to live. I have a chance to serve women, children, and families in my ward and become closer to them. This is a chance for me to bless others and receive blessings, and learn to become a little more Christlike. I pray to find people to serve and share the gospel with. There is a special feeling that can't be described when you step out of your comfort zone and reach out to a someone in need. When I was baptized at age 8, I made covenants with my Heavenly Father . As I keep the commandments and my covenants with Him, I am blessed. I need those blessing in my life and for my family. I strive to attend the Mormon Temple monthly. This is a place that I made additional covenants with my Heavenly Father when I went through for the first time. I can renew my covenants and also serve people who have passed on from this life each time I go. The blessings I receive from following His commandments and keeping my covenants are vital for my life and increase my faith. This is how I live my faith, and I can't live without it.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Jade
The Lord declared, "This is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (see Moses 1:39). I know I can be with my husband, my parents, my siblings, and my two little girls forever if we are obedient in living the Gospel. The knowledge that I have gained from the gospel about eternal life is one of the most importance truths in my life. My family is everything to me. Knowing that we can continue as a family after this life and live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again one day gives me purpose and hope every single day. Show more Show less
