Hi I'm Bridget

I study Chemistry at school. I love adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to create music. I can play piano, guitar, harmonica and French horn, although I'm not, by any means, a professional. I took a semester off from college to go to China to teach English. Back at school I study chemistry with an emphasis in criminalistics. I'd like to use that to become a crime scene investigator. I've thought about working for the government someday, but we'll see. I'd also like to write a novel someday. I have a lot of dreams, and I'm just trying to find a way to make them all work together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the covenent. My entire life I was raised to be a part of this gospel. But that's not why I'm a Mormon. I've had my fair share of temptations, and they continue still today. I'm a Mormon because this church has provided me with answers that I can logically accept as truth, and-- more than that-- I can feel in my heart that they're true. Whenever I feel like I'm at my lowest, I can always turn to scriptures or prayer or words from the living prophet or even just the hymns, and immediately there's a sense of comfort and relief. I've never had anything else in my life that I've always been able to turn to, and without question, have it be there for me, a steady rock in my life. Never has the church faultered from the help and support I need. Sometimes I've faultered and chosen to persue a different path, but I always choose to come back to the gospel. Not because it's easy or familar (it's not always easy, for the record), but because nothing else works or makes sense. Once you know and accept it, this church is the only answer.

How I live my faith

I go to a Young Single Adult branch, and I work every week to help ensure that all the people in my branch get together once a week to spend time with each other and get closer. We have a small lesson and then do some fun activity together. I help plan the activity, and I prepare the lesson about once a month. I also live my faith by voulunteering to provide medical support at various activities, primarily for Boy Scout outings but also for a couple major events each year.

Are Mormons Christians?

Bridget
Yes, we are. Mormon is actually just a nick name given to the members of the church. The name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Christ is the foundation of our religion, and we practice the same principles and ordinances that He established when He was on Earth. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Bridget
Pray about it. Read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if this is the true Church. You'll know the answer when you get it. When I prayed to know if the Church was true, I got a really warm feeling around my heart and my chest, almost like I was being hugged, and I got a really strong sense that Heavenly Father loved me. There's no mistaking it when you feel the answer, although the answer isn't manifested to everyone in the exact same way. Show more Show less
