Hi I'm Raleigh Preston

I grew up in a simple home in Alabama. I love to cook, I love to create things, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, especially camping! My childhood was spent camping on the shores of the Tennessee River, and there's nothing like reeling in a big fish on a bright sunny day! I also love art and music. I paint, draw, and play the piano. I love to cook, and try to do so at every opportunity. I've learned to enjoy life as it comes, to enjoy the small things and never pass an opportunity to learn something new. I hike, I swim, I am an artist, and I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home without really any christian background. My parents had a lot of problems, and there was a lot of arguing and fighting, and not many kind words. When I was seven we met the missionaries and shortly after my family was baptized. Now, All of those problems are gone! We are happy, we love each other, and I Know that I have more than just my parents and sister. The whole world is God`s family, and we are all brothers and sisters; Children of God. I`ve seen how The Church of Jesus Christ has helped my family, and that`s why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I volunteered for two years as a full-time Service missionary in Northeast Japan. Now, I'm a youth leader and I love the opportunity to work with the teenage kids in my town. I love reading the scriptures and finding comfort and guidance through them. I also love to pray and have conversations with my Heavenly Father when I need help or guidance! I live in a place where there is a lot of misunderstanding about my Faith, so I often have to answer questions about Mormonism or how I'm "different" from other religions. I live my Faith by loving those around me, answering their questions as best I can, and by helping others with love and patience at every opportunity!

What do Mormons believe about family?

Raleigh Preston
Family is very important to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe that families can be together forever; That our parents, siblings, and children will still have that special bond with us after we die. In order to receive this special blessing, our families must be sealed together. This sealing power was given to prophets in ancient times, like Jesus to his disciples or to Elijah. We believe that this sealing power was lost but has been restored through Joseph Smith, and we can now participate in sealing ordinances in special places called temple. In the temple we can make our families eternal so that we can be with them forever. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Raleigh Preston
Yes! The true name of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". Jesus Christ is our Savior. through the Atonement he has given us a way to return to God's presence after we die and to have eternal life. The Book of Mormon, through which we receive the nickname 'Mormons', is another testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon tells of Christ's divinity and purpose and, like the bible, teaches us his Gospel. Show more Show less
