Hi I'm Tawnya

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom. This is my greatest joy. I am a wife. I have the best husband in the world. I love to teach. I teach Sunday School and I teach courses at the local university. I love technology and the possibilities that it brings for our future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where both my parents were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As I grew up, I thought I had a testimony, but as I became a college student, I stopped attending church regularly. I married a wonderful man who was not a member of the church. We talked about religion and faith, but we were not involved in any church. Then one day, my husband was at home while I was at work, and the missionaries knocked on our door. He agreed to let them come back and teach him when I was home. As he went through the missionary lessons, I regained my testimony and became converted. After he was baptized, we were sealed in the temple. I am so thankful to God and to my husband for the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday School in our branch. I love this because it requires me to study the scriptures and to do all I can to understand the gospel so that I can lead the discussions in our class. I know that it is not my knowledge that teaches, but my preparation helps my students to feel the Spirit and the Spirit will testify to them of the truthfulness of the things that they learn. I welcome visitors to my class because I love to share gospel principles with everyone. I know the joy that the gospel can bring and want to share this joy with everyone.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Tawnya
I know that my Heavenly Father loves me because he guided my life so that I would meet my husband. James and I know that faith has strengthened our marriage. Just knowing that we can be together forever and that God and Jesus Christ have part in the covenant we made to each other helps bind us together even stronger. The faith that we share helps us through good times and bad. It helps us overcome difficulties and enjoy the blessings of life. Show more Show less
