Hi I'm Kelly

I love lemons, listening to Jimmy Eat World, going on road trips, and well I'm the best thing ever...I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Just finished serving in N.O.M! Nebraska Omaha Mission. I loved being a missionary and serving the Lord. Best decision I've ever made. If your considering it...well don't....JUST DO IT! I'm the middle child - stuck in between two brothers. I can't complain, they are the best. Oh and I have a crazy puppy...her name is Elle. My dad has worked in the jewelry business for over 25 years. He's the hardest worker I know. Just ask anyone who knows me, we're just alike. I love him so much. My mom...well I love her! She has shown, by example, how to have a strong relationship with her Heavenly Father. Her faith is amazing. In the near future, I am planning on majoring in Psychology and working along side my dad! I love change! I love road trips. I love meeting new people. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings pure joy, you know not the temporary kind but the long lasting kind.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because it is the only true church! It is Christ's church that He set up when He was on the earth. We are blessed to have it restored in these latter last days through a Prophet. I am a Mormon because it is true, and it brings joy. I have received a witness for myself from the Holy Ghost. When I was about 13 years old my grandpa gave me a set of church books about the early history of the church. I read all 9 books in 3 weeks. I had a confirming witness that it was true, so powerful that it has stayed with me for years. Before I got my mission call my dad felt prompted to tell that story to those that had come over. When I opened my call and found out that I was going to Nebraska, to me it wasn't that I was just going 2 states over. To me it was that I was going to Winter Quarters. To one of the historic sites that is talked about in those books. I knew then more than ever that God really does know me personally. He sent me to a place I knew so much about and loved. An Apostle of the Lord would refer to that as a "Tender Mercy." I know Christ lives. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father. I know there is a prophet on the earth today. President Thomas S. Monson. I know families can be together forever. I am grateful for my Savior's Atonement. Without the Atonement, it wouldn't be possible to live with Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and sharing the gospel with them. I also keep the commandments as best as I can and try to be an example to those around me. It's important in today's world to be an example and to stand up for what we believe in. It's important to live what we believe even if sometimes we feel it's too hard to do so!

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet when Christ's church was restored to the earth in the 1800's. After Christ and His apostles were no longer on the earth, there was a period of time when the Gospel in it's fullness wasn't on the earth. In the 1800's Joseph Smith, at the age of 14, was concerned about the welfare of his soul. There were so many churches that all taught different things and he didn't know which was right. He read in the Bible James 15 "If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God..." and that's what he did. In the spring of 1820 he went into a grove of trees and asked his Heavenly Father which church to join. He received an answer that morning as he was able to see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He was to join none of them, because he was going to be prepared to restore the original church back to the earth. He was a boy of great faith. He was a great example of enduring to the end.
