Hi I'm Daniel

I'm from Idaho! I started a business that monitors healthcare provided to senior citizens. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an inventor and an entrepreneur! I have about 10 patents ranging from semiconductors and aerospace to patient monitoring systems and wetness sensing of incontinence. I started my first business, a residential spray service at the age of 22. Our company slogan was "We spray what BUGS you" and I believe that I was one of the first companies to use an acronymn for a phone number which was 208-524-BUGS. I am an eagle scout and love the outdoors. I have built two homes and have passed the state licenses to do construction, plumbing and electrical. My family raised gladiolus commercially to augment our family income, so I have loved gardening and farming from my youth. I have a 40 acre farm with a 500 fruit tree orchard. My wife and I met in college and have been married for 39 years. We have 9 children, 7 sons and 2 daughters. All of our sons are eagle scouts. We are just expecting our 23 grandchild! Needless to say, our family reunions are a blast! I have been a beekeeper for almost 20 years now. It is a wonderful hobby that I enjoy a lot. Our family got to spend 4 years on expat assignments in Europe and that experience has really broadened our appreciation for cultures and peoples.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon and have always found the teachings and principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be in line with how I personally feel. I have had ample opportunity in my life to both learn of and attend a great deal of other religions, which I appreciate and find good in all of them. However, only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have I found what I consider to be the eternal truths that are most important to me. Did I live before I was born, why am I here on this earth, and will I live again after this life. The teachings of the church relative to Christ, that He is the literal son of God the Father, separate and distinct from God the Father, makes perfect sense to me. As I look at the history of the world, I saw remnants of the Greeks and Romans as we travelled Europe. Ancient civilizations that prospered and were incredible. However, I also see in that history of the world a dark and dreary period of decline which I believe began with the crucifiction of Christ, the Son of God, and which lasted for hundreds of years until the early 1600's when God began to prepare again the earth for the restoration of the gospel taught by Christ His son back to the earth. It started with light and knowledge returning to the earth in printing presses that brought the Bible into the hands of the commoner, advances in science, astronomy, and equipment and factories that had been absent from the earth of 1500 years. I believe that as recorded by the young boy Joseph Smith is the 1820's that in answer to his humble prayer to God to know which church he should join, that he saw a heavenly vision, where God the Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to him, telling him that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was not on the earth but would be restored to the earth once again. It is that believe that is the foundation of my faith in Christ and gives me the hope of eternal life and exaltation with my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are active in our community and church. I have coached soccer and basketball for youth. My wife volunteers at the highschool as a receptionist and also once a month does an activity and dinner to gradeschool underpriviledged kids. I have also been very active in scouting, as a parent, but also as a cubmaster, scoutmaster and District Scout Chairman. Our family as you might guess has been the center of our lives. We have taught and tried our best to live Christ like lives and attend our local church congregation weekly. This has provided an anchor for our lives and the lives of our children is a world that is becoming increasingly deaf to the teachings of Christ and of love for our fellowmen. As a family we set aside one night a week just to spend together as a family. We usually have a gospel discussion and some fun games and treats. This has proved to be a great blessing in our lives and that of our children because we have been able to discuss, teach and reinforce the gospel of Jesus Christ in the lives of us and our children.
