Hi I'm Paul

I'm a Mormon. I have been my whole life. People often ask me why I'm always so happy. This is why.

About Me

I'm a people person. I love meeting people and learning about them and their lives. I've always enjoyed playing and following sports - basketball, soccer, snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, and camping. I try to stay physically fit. After my relationship with God, the most important and most fulfilling part of my life is my family. I love being a husband and father. It requires the most from me, but the pay is great!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been Mormon. I grew up being taught the doctrines of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I must admit that there have been periods of doubt and questioning. But I have come out of those with an even deeper conviction. As I have attended church meetings, studied, prayed, and contemplated, the Holy Ghost has witnessed to my soul over and over and over again that these things are good, right, and true.

How I live my faith

Our church encourages its members to spend time each day deepening our relationship with God. I get up early in the morning before everyone else in the home, and I spend a few minutes in personal prayer and scripture study. I have come to cherish this time alone with my Father in Heaven. I feel his love for me. Our church also encourages families to spend time together in work, service, fun, and worship. We enjoy watching family-appropriate shows together. We have a simple game of "name the movie" where someone will quote a line from a movie, and the rest of us will try and guess what movie and which character the quote is from. We have "scriptures and prayer" together every evening. It is a simple ritual that brings us together in unity - even when we get the giggles, and it takes us a while to compose ourselves to say prayer. I am grateful that the church has counseled us to create these family traditions. In our church, we are asked to serve in "callings." These are assignments in our congregation, such as Sunday School teacher, Scout Leader, service coordinator, and so forth. These come to us through our unit leader who prays and seeks the Lord's guidance as to who should serve in what roles. Many of the "callings" I have been asked to fulfill have been to work with the youth of our church. I love our youth. They are amazing! I have enjoyed getting to know them, teaching them, camping and hiking with them, playing sports and other games with them, and giving service along side of them. I have also enjoyed the assignment of helping to share our message with others. We are a happy people. We are happy because we know the purpose of life and how to live life in accordance with God's plan. This is an important message to share with the world. I love coming up with simple and fun ways to let others know I'm a Mormon and the joy the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life.
