Hi I'm Robert

I'm a missionary from the US serving in Mexico. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm from the United States but I'm serving as a missionary in Mexico. I like to be active. I have played on teams of baseball, football, tennis, basketball, and track. I like meeting and getting to know new people each day. After my mission, I'm going to return and study in Brigham Young University but I'm still not sure what is going to be my major.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in this church. I liked going to church with my family every Sunday. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I remember many times when I had the oportunity to ask God if this church contained his true teachings. As a child, the words of the scriptures always brought much joy to my life. I liked to learn about Jesus Christ and his love for all of us. As a teenager, my beliefs were tested with trials and challenges in my life. I have realized that God always listens to our prayers but always answers in the manner that is best for us. There is always an exit or a solution for any problem or challenge we have. We have to ask for his help sometimes to find it. I have received many answers through the Book of Mormon. I know without a doubt that it is another testament of Jesus Christ and you can know it to if you ask God in a prayer.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving as a missionary. I've received a lot of happiness from the opportunities I have to teach people about the commandments of God and how they can be blessed for living these commandments. Something else I like is that I am always finding something that I can improve in my own life. The quality of live we live will always improve when we try to live according to the will of God. We may not have a ton of luxuries but we'll have happiness within our families and our lives. I've seen people make these changes in their lives and it's incredible to see the happiness these changes bring to their lives. I've received many blessings from other people who have given service freely to me. I love that I now have the opportunity to do the same for other people on a daily basis.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Robert
We don't worship Joseph Smith. We believe that through him God restored the Church of Jesus Christ once again on the Earth. We believe that he was called of God to do this. We also belief that he was a prophet of God. We are grateful for the work he did as a prophet of God. But who we worship is God our Eternal Father, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Robert
The members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints enjoy any opportunity to serve anyone. All of us are children of God. As a missionary I look for opportunities to serve other people every day. Usually these people aren't members of the Church. The church has sent aid to other countries during times of need or in the case of natural disasters. These countries sometimes have very little membership in our church or sometimes they don't have any members in their country. We help everyone. Show more Show less
