Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a mother of 5. I'm keeper of our family history and stories.

About Me

My husband and I were sealed in Washington DC Temple in Oct 1983 and have worked together in our local FHC since 1984. We are the keepers of our family history and proud parents of 5. We have two married, one grandson born Sept 2010, a very special angel in Heaven, and two girls still at home. I enjoy doing family history and am keeper of our family stories. I use our family history to teach our children history. I am multiply handicapped but it doesn't stop me. I enjoy nature, and exploring, camping, arts and crafts, music, etc. I love learning and encourage my children to do their best. We are a Forever Family. I am Heavenly Father's special daughter and He watches over me and cares for me always. Our son watches over us from Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

The missionaries who came to teach momma and me called us "dry Mormons" They said we only needed baptized. I was baptized Southern Baptist at age 9. The missionaries taught us we needed to be baptized by with direct authority from the Lord. They taught us the organization of the church and the First Vision. I had grown up with the Bible Stories and know most of them frontwards and backwards. I also grew up with American Indian legends and teachings. I didn't understand what a prophet is other than a very special man of God. I knew as a boy Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus. The missionaries at our first meeting called me "little sister" and taught me. I was the first time I had ever known true love and acceptance outside my small family. I heard President Spencer W. Kimball speak on the radio and knew immediately that he is a very wise man of God who speaks with the Lord always. I was baptized Good Friday 13 April 1979. I am and shall always be "little sister" to all the missionaries who taught me. I know the Church is the the Lord's Church as Jesus organized it when He walked the earth long ago and that it was reorganized by Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I working in Family History. I enjoy teaching my children and helping others find their family history. I teach my children history and geography, math, reading, etc through our family history. Though I am multiply handicapped and cannot drive or do many things most take for granted, I found there is much I can do with the Lord's help. I am a visiting teacher and have been for many years. I have the letter route and write to inactive sisters every month. Through my letters I try to send the Lord's message and to let my sisters that they are not alone, that they are loved and cared for always. I try to find the good in all things and teach my children to seek the good. To always reach for the Light and try to be the best they can be. Dream. Hope. Believe. With the Lord all things are possible. Trust in the Lord always and work hard . Most important I am a mother and a very special daughter of God.
