Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am a Ghanaian African, in my early thirties, single and I teach physics in a Senior High School in my country. I like reading, writing, surfing the Internet, and I love pizza. I love the Lord and I love helping people, which gives me the utmost pleasure and satisfaction of being useful. I also like developing Softwares and Websites!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2010 after investigating the church for approximately three weeks. Prior to that, I had read The Book of Mormon, twice, and felt convinced it was truly inspired of God .... that was about three years earlier!.... For about a year before my baptism, I had increasingly been feeling lost. I had been feeling like my life had no direction and there was no meaning to my life. I had been feeling empty and lonely, even though I had family members and friends around me almost all the time. I had been feeling like life was too hard and that all things worked against. I also had been feeling worthless and insignificant. One Saturday night, in March 2010, I prayed earnestly onto the lord, which I hadn't done in like eight to ten years ..... in the manner I knew how to .... and then, when I couldn't sleep, I took my copy of The Book of Mormon which had been given me by missionaries some years back, ....of which I had read twice and already been impressed upon deeply in my heart, of its divinity .... and read a few verses. Truthfully, I cant remember what it was that I read that night, but I remember that it felt really good and re-assuring to read and that suddenly, I knew what it was that was missing in my life ..... faith in God, and in his son Jesus Christ!... I remember the passage in the book put it so plainly, clearly and bluntly. I also remember it felt as if I was being spoken to directly from the pages read. I knew immediately that I had to find out more about the "Mormons" or "Latter-day Saints". The next day - Sunday - I just got dressed and attended a church service ....which also I hadn't done in about eight to ten years.... with the "Mormons" nearby in my community. .....And guess what! I have not missed a service since then! I have found a new gusto to my life and I cant seem to find the words that sufficiently thank the Lord for the gazillion blessings in my life today! Yes.... Life remains a challenge and Yes.... its not all rosy for me, BUT NOW, I know that I am not alone.... I know that I've got the unconditional love of our Eternal Heavenly Father, the example and restored gospel of His Only Begotten Son, even my Savior who is Jesus the Christ ....who has the power to forgive all my sins no matter what they may be...., and the hope of a resurrection and an eternal life in the hereafter, on condition that I adhere to His gospel and endure till the end. I also have the comfort and the companionship of the Holy Spirit which can only be had by the laying of hands of a faithful and worthy authorized holder of the Lord's Holy Priesthood. I sincerely hope you too shall find the truth, peace and comfort that I have found in the Lord and His Restored Church and Gospel and share in my joy. May the lord bless you..... AMEN

How I live my faith

Not long after my baptism, I was called to serve in the church ....my ward, as we refer to our local church group or community.... as be the "Young Men Secretary", and then as the "Young Men President". This is a position of service in which I offer my help in leading young men of ages from 12yrs to 18yrs in personal growth and progress in learning and living of the gospel, and advancing in the church program of personal growth, referred to as "Duty to God". They learn to live morally upright lives, work hard in religious and educational study, sports, healthy life styles, family life and community life. I also visit households of members and people who would like to know more of the gospel of Jesus Christ, widows, orphans and basically all those I find I can help in any simple way, including just offering my companionship. This I do not because it is required of me by the church, but because I learned of it in the gospel. As I have said, I have found a new happiness in being of help to people! Pure and simple!!!!
