Hi I'm Natalie

I grew up in California. I'm a wife and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college a couple years ago with a degree in Elementary Education. I served a mission for my church, taught second grade in a charter school and got married a year ago. Now I am supporting my husband as he goes to college. I love music, reading and being around friends and family. God has given me so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this church. I had always decided to attend with my family until I got to college. I was faced with the decision of whether or not to continue in my faith. I found myself thinking "Is this real?" I searched, and finally decided to try to continue in it. Something I learned from my search was that God's hand is like the wind- you can't always see Him physically, but you can see the huge and amazing effect He has on people. This decision has made a great difference in my life. Also, while studying at BYU-Idaho I worked in the food services. I had an accident one day, and got a serious burn on one arm. As I waited for someone to see me in the Health Center, I remember thinking of Jesus Christ. I realized He had already suffered for my sins and for the pain I felt. My fear changed to feelings of comfort. I believe the Savior understands what I've gone through, and will always be there to get me through it. Since then I have received several confirmations in my heart and mind that Jesus is my Savior. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches the fullness of His gospel. Through sacred promises available in holy temples, we can be with those we love forever, now and after we die. I know if anyone is sincerely seeking to know if this is true they can read The Book of Mormon and pray to gain their own witness of it. As it says in James 1:5, if you lack wisdom, ask of God. He will give you a witness you can trust and put faith in.

How I live my faith

Church has always allowed me gain and practice skills that help me in other aspects of my life. I have held positions in the women's organization in our Church, have taught classes on scriptural passages and have played music for our services. I don't know if I would have the organizational, teaching or musical skills I do without these opportunities. As a missionary, I gave history and religious presentations to people of all different walks of life in a Visitors' Center. I feel like I was able to reach out to so many. It allowed me to create connections and understandings with those that may believe different than me. I learned a lot from the people I met. We are all children of God and so many of us have faith in good things. We need each other, even if we don't believe the same. It's important to support those around us that are working to serve others, that are striving to keep their families together and that are trying to make the world a better place in their own way.
