Hi I'm JERRY P. HAWKER RN

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am about as unconventional as you can get. I break all the stereotypes of a Mormon. I am a male RN and do Home Health and volunteer at a free clinic. I work on projects including remodeling homes, Plumbing, electrical work, landscape. I ride a motorcycle an enjoy scuba diving. art, and am a decent photographer. My favorite things in life are fine food, and cooking but most of all being a Grandfather to my children's children. I like all kinds of pets and have three of each...cats and dogs. I volunteer to do things for others just to see the surprise that their needs are met. I am also very eclectic in my music tastes as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir might be followed up by Janice Joplin and both move me to high energy. I have been verily happily married to my wife Leslie for almost Thirty-six years and were are Eternal partners. I have been a Mormon for Forty-two years and counting. I am a WoodBadge BSA and camp out frequently. Best of all I left behind a family life riddled with the torment of alcohol and gambling with divorced parents and no hope of the life I live. My life now is so different and better. I know that it is due to the sacrifice the Lord Jesus gave me and you. No more nightmares and trauma for this guy! I will love the Lord and Heavenly Father forever!

Why I am a Mormon

I came to find this church to be one that encourages free thinking. Also to do your best and allow the Atonement of the the Lord Jesus do the rest. I find the Book of Mormon to be true and also doesn't conflict with the King James Bible. In fact, I find that the two together are much stronger witnesses of the divinity of Jesus than either one could apart. The Restored Gospel is logical to me and makes complete sense.

How I live my faith

I live my religion every minute of every day! It is not something I put on Sunday morning and take of that night. I strive to do unto others as I would like done to me. I attend my church services frequently and participate in them. I do a prison ministry every Sunday with my brothers in Christ and have for over Five years. I look for ways to be of service to others. I rarely have too much time on my hands as I keep busy with the Lord's work.
