Hi I'm Harmony

I was born and raised in California. I'm a teacher, a crocheter, a single adult and an Auntie. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a California girl through and through. I love living in California. I have a wonderful family that I love very much. While I spend my days working at in an insurance company the rest of my free time is spent with friends and family. I studied Philosophy and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in the subject a few years back. I have 8 wonderful nieces and nephews that I love very much. I work very hard to be a good example for them. I like to craft, but mostly I like to crochet. I make blankets, scarves, ornaments and toys. It's really one of my passions! I don't drink alcohol, smoke or watch R rated movies but that doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun! :) I'm also single. It's not always easy to be a single adult surrounded by others that have received the blessing of marriage and children. But what I can say is that it would be infinitely harder if I didn't have the Gospel in my life. I was asked once if I was angry or upset that I had not been blessed yet with a husband and children. My response is emphatically, no. I know that with or without those blessings my Heavenly Father loves me and has a plan for my life. As long I as I am following Him, and work on being the best I can be everyday, I know that I will not be forgotten. My life, just as it is, is a gift that I am grateful to receive. If someday I am blessed with more it will be in wonderful but if not I know without a doubt that I am in important part of my Family as a daughter, a sister and an Aunt.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't always have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or of his Church. Just like any teenager I wanted to find things out for myself, make my own way in this world. Slowly but steadily though I began to see that true happiness can only come from one source, Jesus Christ. There wasn't a thunderbolt or a burning bush that all at at once converted me. It was a slow process but line upon line, principle by principle I began to feel the spirit speaking to my heart and my mind. The spirit confirmed to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the Lord's true church. Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and President Thomas S Monson is the Lord's prophet today. I know that Jesus Christ is the savior of the world. He suffered for my sins and loves me. My Heavenly father hears my prayers and because of his unfailing love I know that I can withstand the trials I face in this world. I also know that there is something more beyond this world. I know that if i can stand faithful and endure all the way to the end I will be in the presence of God and Jesus and with my forever family again.

How I live my faith

I work hard at being a good example to my family, friends and coworkers. I do my best to heed the Lord's call and follow him. I'm certainly not perfect and don't always do or say the right thing. But being at church around others that are trying just as hard as I am to choose the right strengthens me. I try to keep the Holy Ghost in my home by praying, reading my scriptures and enjoying family and firends. I don't drink alchohol, smoke or watch R rated movies but that doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun! :) Currently I am a teacher in what we call Seminary. Every school day at 6:00 am I meet with a wonderful group of high school students. We study and learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ together. It's sometimes difficult to keep up with planning lessons and working full time but it's worth it. I get to start my day with a Gospel message that I can use to help keep the spirit with me all day.
