Hi I'm Randi

I am from cartersville georgia! I love life and helping people! I am a mom, a christian and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I am from atlanta georgia but have lived in many states. I have been back in ga for about 12 years now and i have a daughter that is about to turn 10 who im very proud of. About 4 years ago my mother passed away. She was my best friend and a wonderful nana. At that time i became care giver to my father. He is the coolest guy you could ask for as a dad. Unfortunatly he was diagnosed with parkinsins disease at an early age. Over the last few years he has developed dementia but he still does pretty good for him self. We enjoy playin horse shoes in the back yard and cooking out as much as the weather will let us. We went through a lot of hard times but i can honestly say that in the last couple of years, since the church has been in our lives we are closer and have more fun than we have ever had as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

At 18 i was told that i had some issues with my overies and some kinda irregular tissues on my cervix. They told me i would never have children and i was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I was so upset that i would never have children. I went back febuary 14th 2001 to receive treatment when doctors discovered that i was infact 11 weeks pregnant. They told me there was a chance i couldnt carry her and if i did we would have to worry the cancer would get worse. I told them i would take that chance. I had my daughter november 3, she was 9 lbs 4 ounces and 23 1/2 inches long. 6 weeks later they went to test the progress of the cancer and suprised us all! It was not found. My mother always said she was her miracle baby. That was the first time in my life i thought about god. At 26 years old i joined a baptist church thinking maybe i could find the truth about the questions i had. I had just lost my mother the year before and i was confused about everything. I wondered if i would ever see her again. One day, two guys in suites came to my house. I told them they could come in for a few minutes. I just knew that they couldnt answer any question i might have so i figure this would be a quick meeting. I asked several questions and was super excited when they pulled out the bible and showed me places in the scriptures that answered them perfectly. They were very understanding and never passed any judgement. They asked me if i would read some of the book of mormon after a couple of meetings and i told them i'd try. My daughter and i started reading and praying. It didnt take long and for the first time in my life i felt the holy ghost and knew without a doubt ,there was a god. I know this is the church that jesus christ started on the earth and i know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god. I know that our heavenly father wanted Joseph smith to restore the church so that we can know the truth, have families and live happy together on earth until we return to live with him again.

How I live my faith

I now have the opportunity on the first and third wednesday of each month to have an activity night with the girls from our church. They range from 8-11 years of age. We really enjoy our time learning about the gospel and playing games to help us remember the scriptures and the promises we make with our heavenly father. I am also a music tech in one of our meetings. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I've been given to serve in the church. It has been a wonderful blessing in my life! I hope to be able to do much more in time.
