Hi I'm Maren

I'm happy to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of seven children. I have been married for 23 years to a wonderful man. I work at one of our local TV stations as a receptionist, I have been there for 33 years. I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and making jewelry.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am blessed to have had many ancestors who were among the pilgrims & pioneers. They crossed oceans and the great American plains for the opportunity to worship God freely. I had wonderful parents who taught me about Jesus Christ, and raised me to choose the right. I'm grateful every day for their example, their strength of character, and for giving me such a wonderful foundation for life. They have both passed on now, but I know that one day I will be reunited with them, when I too pass from this existence. As I think about everything going on in the world, I can't imagine being able to cope with life's challenges without the Gospel. Everywhere I look I see the hand of God, and his creations. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to my Heavenly Father ... for the love I feel from him every day, and his constant guidance in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a fundamental part of who I am. I think of life as a gift, but it can be full of challenges too & mine is no different . My husband is disabled, he struggles with his health daily, which sometimes causes him to become discouraged. But the strength I receive from our Heavenly Father & our Savior Jesus Christ, through both scripture study and prayer, helps me to be a better person and wife, & this enables me to help my husband though his difficult times. I'm grateful for the knowledge we have, that we will all be whole again after the resurrection, and that we will have no more infirmities. I love my husband with all my heart, he is my Eternal companion. I'm so grateful to know that we will be able to stay together even after death, if we live our lives in accordance with the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Child of God. He sent me here to earth to grow and be tested ... I strive each day to follow the example of Jesus Christ, so that I can return to live with him and our Heavenly Father someday.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I have had many church callings and opportnities to serve. I have served in the children's organization several times. It is such an honor to work with the children, knowing that they were with our Heavenly Father so recently. Teaching them about our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ is so rewarding. By teaching them it allows me the opportunity to continue to grow and learn too, as I study the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently I am serving as the emergency preparedness coordinator in our congregation This is a challenging calling, making a plan, to have in place so we are prepared for emergencies, and so we can assist those in need, in cases of emergency or disaster. However, I sure hope we never need to use that plan. I pray daily that we won't have to suffer through the kind situations or disasters (etc.), that would endanger the members of our congregation, or the citizens in our community. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve, in whatever capacity that my Heavenly Father wants me to have. I know that I will grow and learn from each calling, the Lord has in store for me.
