Hi I'm Scott Weight

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Citrus Heights. I currently live in Roseville.

About Me

I love playing almost all sports. My favorite sport is football, and my favorite football team is the Chicago Bears. DA BEARS! I work out at the gym almost everyday, trying to stay fit. I love watching movies. I enjoy hanging out with my family and going out to dinner. We love going out and eating sushi. My favortie T.V. show is The Office. I graduated from college with a degree in International Business. I'm currently working as a Human Resources Manager for a skilled nursing home. One of my passions is baking, especially cookies. Nothing makes me more happy then to deliver treats to those that I care about.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I appreciate the knowledge that I've gained about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and how it applies to me and my own life. I'm very thankful that our church believes in modern day revelation, and that we are guided by a living prophet. We believe that a prophet is God's mouthpiece, to guide us in these latter days. We believe that a prophet communicates with God directly, and then tells us God's will. We believe in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. A book written by prophets in ancient times, but we can apply its teachings to our lives today. This book has brought me more joy and knowledge than any other book. I would encourage everyone to read it.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in our chruch as the Elder's Quorum President. The Elder's Quorum consists of men in our ward over the age of 18. We meet each Sunday as a group at the end of our worship services to learn how to apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ to help us become better fathers, better husbands, and better members of our community. I really enjoy this calling because I get to learn from the good men in our quorum on how to be a better man. I also serve as a home teacher. A home teacher gets to visit different families in the ward and we share a message about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how to apply its teachings in our families. Home Teachers also attend to the needs of the families that they've been assigned to visit. I consider Home Teaching to be one of the biggest blessings in my life.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Scott Weight
Like most things, it's important to first study it out. Read the Book of Mormon. Invite the Mormon missionaries over to your home to learn more. Then pray to our Heavenly Father and ask if these things are true. Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?
