Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in Salt Lake City and now live in Bountiful, Utah. I have a wife and daughter and I love to run. I'm also a Mormon!

About Me

I've been married for almost 19 years and my wife and I have an almost ten year old daughter. I have worked at the Post Office for almost 33 years. I was also a flight medic in the Air National Guard for six years back in the 70's. I love running, and have completed five marathons. I served a two year mission for the LDS Church in England after I graduated from high school back in 1972.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents were members of the Church and so I was active from my youth. However, I believed in the reality of a loving Heavenly Father from as far back as I could remember. As I grew older, my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Church, became my own through answers to personal prayers and study of the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon. As I have studied the lives of Joseph Smith and and other latter-day-prophets my faith and testimony have only been strengthened. How grateful I am in this world of turmoil and change to know that God reveals His mind and will today through a living prophet just as He did in Bible times. And that I can also go to the scriptures and learn from the words of prophets from the past.

How I live my faith

I have served as a sunday school teacher, scoutmaster, quorum president and counselor, a member of our ward's bishopric, and am currently a counselor in our young men's presidency and assistant scoutmaster . I served a two year full time mission to Southwest England in the 70's.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Kevin
We believe that Temples are the House of the Lord and are therefore holy places. When you go through the temple for yourself the first time, you make sacred promises to God and receive great blessings as you keep those promises. After that you are able to return as often as you like to go through for people who died without the opportunity that you had. This is not only a great blessing for those who have passed on but reminds you each time of your own covenants to follow Christ. Marriages are also performed there for not just this life but to last throughout eternity. Families really can be forever! Show more Show less
