Hi I'm Taucia

I live in rural Idaho. I live, laugh, love and struggle just like everybody else and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married mom with 4 kids, one dog, one cat and lots of drive time. I recently started substitute teaching to help suppliment our family income because my husbands income was cut in half. For most of my life I had the privilege of staying home to take care of the kids. Yes, there were times I felt like I was missing out on things by not working, but I see the value in my sacrifice when I go to work in the schools and see children that feel uncared for at home. I haven't always been happily married. When I was young, I married the wrong person. Our relationship quickly became unbearable due to his extreme unkindness. I divorced him and moved on. I thank my Heavenly Father for caring about ME.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is the true and restored gospel because of the witness of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost speaks to my soul to tell the truth of all things. When I was young I remember knowing right from wrong. I remember feeling badly when I did something wrong and I remember feeling good when I did the right thing. When I got older I had become so accustomed to feeling the promptings of the Holy Ghost that I wasn't clear on the promptings anymore. So I prayed to Heavenly Father to know when the Holy Ghost was speaking to me. My answer came in the middle of the night. I was awakened by a strong urge in my chest that reminisent of the feeling of panic. I sat straight up in the bed, my first thought was about my children, I knew they were fine. Within seconds I knew everything was fine yet I was awakend from a dead sleep for something. Heavenly Father said to me, "This feeling is the feeling of the Holy Ghost." I remebered the feelings I had as a child. They all came flooding back to me. I thought to myself, "But those are the feelings I have all the time. I always feel that prompting." Heavenly Father told me, "Yes, I know that you know this feeling but I had to bring it back to your remembrance rapidly and surely." Ever since that day I now know and am aware of when the Holy Ghost is talking to me. I know if I want to know the truth of anything all I have to do is ask.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I conduct the music when the women meet together. Over the years I have served in my church in several different ways. I have taught children songs, taught adult classes about scripture studying, put together monthly meetings for the women. I visit with three different women every month to see how they are doing. I try to be a friend to everyone. When I see someone in need and I think I can help them I try my best to fulfill that need. My greatest joy is helping the women with their little babies.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Wards, Stakes and Branches are words to describe designated areas within the church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is one big worldwide church. All things function better when they are seperated into smaller groups. A WARD is the smallest group. Wards are designated by street boundaries. When a person moves into a new dwelling they go to the ward that is designated by their boundary. Simple and easy. No more shopping for a church, you just go to the ward you are assinged to. A ward also has a leader he is called a bishop. A bishop makes decisions for his ward and looks over all those within his ward. His decisions cannot contradict Church doctrine. Within a STAKE there are many wards. A stake also has boundaries but their boundaries encompass a larger area and all of their wards are within the stake boundaries. In each stake there is a presidency that makes decisons upon a local level. Their decisions cannot contradict and must be in harmony with Church doctrine. Where I live we do not have BRANCHES, but they are small enough that they are not able to be of ward size. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

That is a hard question. I wish I could say that it's going to go away but I know it's not. One tip that helps our family is to make our computer area a place that is Christ centered. We have pictures, uplifting sayings, pictures of the prophet and reminders that we are children of God. We also have parent blocks on our computer. As an adult, if I come across random internet pictures, I have to consciously stay away from them. I always tell my children that sin is like opening a closed door. Once you open the door, you can repent, but the door will forever be ajar as a reminder to us. Opening a closed door is a very slipper slope, one that can be overcome, BUT it takes time and work. How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

If the goods aren't shown then the package is closed. That's a simple way to describe it. It you see a girl or woman with everything hanging out for the world to see the first thing you think is "What else will she give away?" I teach my children by example. I wear clothing that covers all of my private areas. If a top I like is too low, I wear a tank top underneath that covers my cleavage. If I like a skirt but when I bend over you can see to China, it too high, I don't wear it. When my kids see how I dress, they want to emulate it. If you are just starting out with changing your life, and you want your children to dress modestly, you be the leader. If you are willing to do it, all the time, everyday, then there isn't much of an arguement they can give you.  Show more Show less
