Hi I'm Stan

I have been a Mormon since 1979 and it is one of two best decisions I have ever made, the other was marrying my spouse.

About Me

I live in Tennessee and love to play golf and go visit my grandchildren. I have three adult children and two grandchildren and have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 32 years. The things I love about the Mormon's are 1 Family comes first 2 I understand who I am 3 I understand why I am here on earth 4 I understand where I am going after this life. I love associating with the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as they strive to help each other and to serve their fellowman, not only members but the community as a whole. Through my church service I have also gotten to be involved in my community by becoming involved in various civic organizations.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by my future spouse. I watched her family as we dated and noticed that there was just something different about how they treated each other and that they had a sense of purpose. I became a Mormon because I had just enough faith to be Baptized and then I was determined to follow through and learn all I could. What I discovered was that there is so much more than just beging Baptized. I learned about eternal families, the Priesthood, what it really means when you make a covenant. I learned the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how my time on earth is very important to fullfilling my potential. I know now that I am a child of God, that he loves me and sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to atone for my sins and sins of the world. I know where I came from, I know why I am here and I know where I am going. Knowing those three things makes life worthwhile and provides the hope we all need in our lives. I am a Mormon and love The Church of Jesus Chrsit of Latter-Day Saints and the truthfulness that it brings into my life.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed in my 32 years of membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to hold many "callings". A calling is literally a responsibility given to a member of the Church. It could be as simple as helping to arrange chairs in classrooms to being the Bishop of a Ward or unit of the Church. In my 32 years I have done both of these responsibilities and know that each was important for the Church to operate smoothly and efficiently. By faithfully accepting and magnifying your calling or responsibility you are showing your faith and love for your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also feel it is important to honor the Priesthood. The Preisthood is given to every worthy male member of the Church and is the authority to act on behalf of God. This includes giving fathers blessings and blessings of healing and comfort to the sick and worried. I love having a calling in the Church and believe I receive blessings and my family receives blessings when I faithfully fullfill the responsibilities of my "calling".
