Hi I'm Dr. Bud

I grow up in California and served 22 years in the USAF and am retired from QWEST Communications, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born October 9th, 1955 in Ontario, California. My Dad join the Mormon church when I was 6 but they fell away after 5 years. Of course, I fell inactive also, with no support at home. My teenage years were filled with rebellion and I was very hard on my parents. at 18 I joined the USAF and in the first year I married my high school sweetheart. We enjoyed traveling and seeing different sights. toward the end of my Air Force Career we were blessed with 7 children in all. I retired at Hill Air Force Base, Utah after 22 years and went to work for the telephone company. I retired from them after 15 years and completing my BS in Business Management and my Masters in Information Technology. We moved to Missouri after health issues with and my wife’s mother, and my own I was hurt during Desert Shield. I completed My Doctorate in Information Technology and am currently working on my Masters in Psychology. I love the beauty of the Ozarks and the many winding roads, they are custom made for motorcycle rider. I enjoy riding through the area and seeing the different historic sites here. I also love the fishing here, I have several pictures to prove it just not of the big ones that got away.

Why I am a Mormon

We lost our 1st son just days after he was born and we both took it very hard. I thought God was punishing me. Our next 4 children were all healthy and although we were in the same house it wasn't a home. My days were not spent with my family but with friends that loved to party. I felt hollow and lacked vision and a future goal. My wife and I were slowly drifting apart. I finally felt that I had to do something, so for thee first time in almost twenty years I prayed. I prayed for an answer to my concerns and received one the next day at the hands of a man called Valdean Watson He introduced himself saying that he was assigned to visit us you can't tell me the Lord looks after his flock. We started going to church and there was a marvelous change that took the family. We started doing things as a family and we felt the love grow in our home it was no longer just a house. Since then we were sealed together as an eternal family in the Los Angles Temple and had two more children born to us after the doctors advised us that we could not have any more. I know that our Heavenly Father is not a changing God and that he still speaks to us through his Prophets, Jesus Christ is our savior and redeemer and through him is the only way to return to our Heavenly Father. I know that the Bible old and new testaments holds the word of God, and the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been living the way I believe our Heavenly Father would have me live. My friends asked me how I can live should a restrictive way of life, I answer them with the fact that I have never felt so free. I am no longer a slave to the things I used to surround myself with and through faith in Christ was able to set them aside. I enjoy a healthier life style than I would have otherwise had and will be able to enjoy not only my children, but my grandchildren as well. I am living the way that our Heavenly Father always wanted us to. Right now I am in the Branson 1st Ward and enjoy the great atmosphere there. There are many activities for all ages and From the Relief Society for the women to the youth programs including Cub and Boy Scouting. I’d love to share more with you and look forward to hearing from you.
