Hi I'm Brigette

I dance, I read, I teach. I'm happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think that I'm just a normal girl. I love to dance and to write. They, along with theatre, are my passions. I'm going to school with aspirations of being a teacher of either high school English, Kindergarten, dance, or theatre. I still haven't quite decided. Decision-making isn't one of my talents. I'm working on it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but that's not why I'm still in it. When I grew up and started making adult decisions, I tried to lean more strongly on my Father in Heaven. Even though I didn't know without a doubt that this was the true church, I knew that He was there and that He loved me and listened to me. One thing that never failed, was that he guided me to the things that would make me happy. Sometimes I felt that my plans were better than His, but in retrospect, I can see that the ways He tried to guide me were always the best ones for me. One thing he always guided me to was The Book of Mormon. During a particularly trying time of my life--a time when I felt more alone than I ever had--I opened my Book of Mormon and felt what seemed like a hug, but nobody was there, then I felt in my heart as though my Heavenly Father was telling me, "Even when nobody else is there for you, I will be there," and I knew it meant that he would be there in His scriptures. The Bible and The Book of Mormon are ways our Father can lead us, guide us, comfort us, and especially reveal truth to us. He provides them because He loves us.

How I live my faith

I try to do the things that Christ would do. I'm not perfect, but I try to help people in any way I can. I recently got home from serving a mission, in which my entire focus was to help people strengthen the faith that they already had in Christ. Now I just live the way Christ would have me live, and let others see the happiness that His teachings bring me.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

One day, I had had a really good day, and as i was praying that night, I said, "thank you for this day, it was really good." As I said that, I felt so much love, and I realized that EVERYTHING that had happened that day was a blessing to me from my Father in Heaven. I felt that He had made everything just for me. It is hard to identify a few things that tell me that there is a God, because everything tells me that there is--even down to the bad things that happen. They happen so that we can grow. The good things and the bad things are all for us so that we can draw ourselves closer to our father through either thanking him for the good things, or learning from the bad things.
