Hi I'm Drew

I'm a husband. I'm a dad. I'm a geologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Ohio loving guitar, sports, camping, and fishing. I ventured to Utah for college, took a 2-year break for an LDS mission in Hungary, and returned to school for both my bachelors and masters in geology. In the meantime, I've discovered new things to love- my wife and my three children. We've settled in Texas where I've found a career in my field of study.

Why I am a Mormon

I have wonderful parents who demonstrated everyday the blessings of a fulfilling life. They showed me satisfaction from hard work, love found in a family, and happiness from a life of integrity. Wanting those same things for myself and for my future family, I finally followed their counsel and read The Book of Mormon when I was 18. The overwhelming love I felt from my Heavenly Father as I read about those people's interactions with the Savior gave me a strong desire to do what I knew to be right. I discovered for myself then that the Book of Mormon is true, that God is aware of me, and he wants me to live with him again. I know that by striving to live the commandments and to follow the counsel in the scriptures and from a living prophet today, my own family and I can return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I attend Sunday meetings and participate in opportunities to serve. I've been able to work with a small group of youth, where we organized service projects, learning opportunities such as Boy Scouts of America, and other fun activities. At home, we try to have a special family evening every Monday where we have an activity, or we share a faith-promoting lesson with our children (not always easy). We also do our best to read at least a little from the scriptures daily, pray, and try to demonstrate integrity by living the standards set by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
