Hi I'm Mitzi

I am married to my best friend, a mother of 3, a Friend, Baker, and a "Jill" of many things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a person who loves to serve and help others. I have volunteered for many years on the PTO, neighborhood board, and other organizations. I love to travel. I have been blessed to see many countries. I have an appreciation of freedom and I am grateful I live in the United States. I love to bake and try new recipes. I like seeing others enjoy the things I prepare. I have had a home based baking business, I cater small events. I finally graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science Homemaking at the age of 39!. This goal took 18 years but I achieved it with the help of God, family and friends. I enjoy baking, scrap booking, quilting, reading, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. I love the sound of wind and the ocean waves. I love sunny days and cool weather. I recently started taking piano lessons. I am a mother of three great children who are musical. Our home has been filled with music at all hours. The are happy and love learning although they really don't like to bring extra work home! My best friend is my husband. He and I share a partnership in our marriage. He has been supportive in all that I have endeavored to do or try. I currently have a son serving a mission in Honduras and a daughter leaving to serve in Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into the church. I believe in my Jesus Christ my Savior. I know families can be together forever. My father passed away when I was 20. It was a tough time for me and my family but knowing that we can be together in the next life brought peace to me. I also experienced 2 miscarriages. I know that I will have the opportunity to know those children (boy and girl) in the next life. I am thankful for the tender mercies from my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost who guides me in the decisions I make. I am thankful for the power of prayer. I am thankful for the spirit I feel as I read scriptures and especially as I listen to beautiful music. I am a Mormon because I believe in the gift of repentance. Being able to ask Christ to help you overcome challenges, sorrows, and heartaches because I know He loves me and atoned for ALL I will ever experience.

How I live my faith

I enjoy meeting people, helping others in any way I can and trying new things. I serve in the youth program in our church by teaching bible class to freshman each school day at 6 a.m. This helps them put on the Armour of God to resist the fiery darts of the adversary while they are at school. I love serving the youth. They have the courage to stand up in the world to have values, morals and happiness. I have attended girls camp for the past 5 years. This is an opportunity for young women ages 12-18 to gather and learn basic safety, fire, and survival skills. To learn to serve through service projects and helping others. They have fun swimming, zip lining, human Foosball, rock climbing, singing, performing skits and most importantly understanding that we are all a child of God and have an important role here on Earth. We are daughters of royal birth. We can stand for truth and righteousness even when others may mock us. I have helped organize and plan church activities. Some of these include Chili cook-off/Texas themed, Group Adult dinners, Thanksgiving camping trip, Christmas celebration, Fall festival/trunk r treating, Family talent show and more. These activities are great opportunities to gather with people who like wholesome recreational activities. We enjoy spending time without the influence of alcohol or drugs. We are a happy people for the most part. I am a visiting teacher. I enjoy monthly visits with sisters in my ward boundaries. We get to know each other. Teach a brief lesson of hope, Christ, preparation, and our role as a mother and woman of Christ.
