Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a singer. I'm a writer. I'm a metalhead. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I'm especially a fan of metal and hard rock. I love going to concerts and I'm always searching for new music. I play several different instruments including the guitar, drums, bass, piano, and saxophone. I think my favorite thing to do, though, is using my good ol' fashioned vocal instrument. I've been in a couple of different bands with some of my friends and I love to perform. I also write poetry and enjoy speaking my mind. I try to be as honest and genuine as I can. I think the world would be a much better place if people didn't change to fit their surroundings. I'm a fan of humor and enjoy laughing and messing around with my friends. One of our favorite activities is getting together and making a stupid movie or two. My goal in life is to make others around me laugh and feel good. I love playing videogames and watching movies. I served a mission in Florida, and I'm currently attending Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many very personal experiences that have contributed to my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The main reason that I am a mormon is because I have experienced both sides of the story. I have not always been in the Church. My father was a member and my mother was not. We did not go to church regularly when I was younger and it was definitely hard for me. Without the standards and values that the Church teaches, I had some difficult times. Once I started becoming active in the Church and truly gained a testimony through reading and praying about the Book of Mormon, I realized how much easier life could be. With the knowledge of who I am and what I'm meant to do, I am so much happier. The Spirit of the Lord has testified to me that this is the true Gospel and I cannot deny its truthfulness. Because I know this I decided to serve a mission and, although it has come to an end, I can still see the blessing the Gospel brings to my life and to the lives of the people around me everyday.

How I live my faith

I have participated very heavily in my church over the past few years. I was a home teacher and I served in leadership positions in my youth group. I earned my Eagle Scout award and enjoy doing service for others. I love to speak in church and the leaders of the church have always seen to it that I've had plenty of opportunities to do just that. I make mistakes just like anyone else, but I try my best to show my faith in Christ and His church in all that I do. I recently returned from serving a full-time, 2-year mission for the LDS church in Tampa, Florida. Nothing has made me happier.
