Hi I'm Esther Lynn

I'm a Mormon who grew up in a very small village, now living her dream in a very big city.

About Me

I grew up with a large family. I am the oldest of the family. There was always a reason to get together with other extended family members. Everyday there seemed to be a party! A birthday, an Anniversary, a reunion, or holiday to celebrate. We worked hard and played hard. We grew up on strict moral values, and although it seemed at times a little stifling as a teenager, I now as a mother of many children of my own, I appreciate all the more what my parents sacrificed to give us the life we had. I enjoyed earning a college degree and working full time in the food industry after high school, but my real joy was when I became a mother. To my husband and I, our kids are our number one top priority. Everything we do is for the good of our family. We work together as a team. My family is the reason I go on each day. Even through the hard times, our goal has been to keep our family going, and to hang in there no matter what. It gives us the greatest peace.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a strong active Mormon family. However, there came a time when I had to find out for myself if the gospel of Jesus Christ was true. I remember clearly the night I went down on my knees and talked with my Heavenly Father, asking him to forgive me of all my sins, and asking if my membership in the church be true and right. I will never forget the strong feeling of peace, happiness and contentment. It was a witness to me that where I came from was good, and that the direction I was going was great. And that the gospel of Jesus Christ was true and correct. And that my membership in his restored gospel in these Latter Days was indeed true and right. And each day I live, I find more and more witnesses that add upon my testimony of this. I am so grateful for the power of prayer. It's the most simplest and yet divine and all powerful way to stay close to my Father in Heaven. I KNOW that he lives and so does His son, Jesus Christ, without a shadow of a doubt.

How I live my faith

As I said before, I am a mother of many children. And now just recently for the first time, became a grandmother to a sweet little miracle. That keeps me very busy and on my toes at all times. I get involved with all their activities, but more importantly with their school boards or parent councils. I've also been very involved and active with our Community programs such as Block Parent and Census Taking, etc. as well as being very involved with our ward or congregation....serving in many leadership positions for the Children, Youth, and Women's Organizations. It has given me plenty of opportunities to grow, learn, take a stand for the good of families and to develop my faith. It has given me the opportunity to share with others by voice or by example what I strongly believe in when it comes to family, morals, values, and life itself.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Esther Lynn
My husband and I have always planned to work as a team since we were first married. We got married just two months before I finished college. I was grateful for his support while I continued and completed my post secondary schooling. He had already completed his college degree and was already working full time. We decided together how important it was for me, as the mother, to be there full time for our children and concentrate on nurturing them physically and spiritually, with his support of course, while he concentrated solely on providing an income for our household. So that's what we did as soon as I graduated college. I prepared a home for the children we were expecting. Many times over the years we've had to make some slight adjustments through job layoffs or hard economic times, but for the most part that plan has been on the forefront and we believe that this has greatly helped our children through all their busy schedules and teenage struggles. We know that this is due to the support we give to each other as well in parenting together as husband and wife.  Show more Show less
