Hi I'm Hung

I'm a Vietnamese American. I'm a Man of Science. I am a man of faith. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and I moved to America since I was 8 years old. Growing up in a society where there was not much of cultural diversity, I did not have a chance to know Christianity. I love my family and we like to spend our time making food with one another. Currently, I am the only child in my family. My motto about life is to "Love thy neighbor as thyself." My major is Chemistry as well as Vietnamese minor. I think I am a nerd at heart. Right now, I am passionately in love with all things related to Chemistry. In my personal time, I like to bring people together and have community dinners once or twice a week during my college experiences. I love meeting new people and enjoying others company when I get to know people. According to my friends, they believed that I am a slightly odd individual who does a poor job describing himself. In many cases, you will have to take a chance on finding who I am for yourself. My one true goal in life is traveling to many places around the world and serving others. I could see myself from the next ten years and try to become a humanitarian and raise my own family. I love working with kids and I truly want to become a chemistry teacher. I am also passionate about teaching chemistry to students and helping them strive within their potentials. Service projects are my favorite activities to do with friends at my university. Trying to lend a hand and helping others is my passion that God gives me.

Why I am a Mormon

God has a plan for everyone. Without my Heavenly Father, I would not be who I am today. People have difficult trials in their life that they have to go through. Throughout my trials and hardships, the knowledge of knowing that I am a child of God helps me push over those difficult experiences. I was unhappy with my life and I wanted more out of life. I had questions about my purpose in life, my life here on earth, and the after-life. Through the help of my best friend as well as other knowledgeable individuals, I had chances to go and seek my Heavenly Father and understand His plan for me. Looking back at my own choices, I have seen changes from the Savior as well as understand my own purpose on earth. My life has freedom with instructor and I have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to have discovered the truth and the knowledge of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving and loving others. I ask in the prayers each day that the Lord can guide me through the Holy Spirit that allows me to serve Him through missionary works. I always have a tendency to love others by bringing the gospel through my service projects. One of my favorite service projects is to unite others to have a community dinner once a week and share the gospel with people who have not been introduced to the Lord. I believe God has a plan for everyone and He loves all of His children. Just as anyone would share something that has blessed their lives so much, I try to share the joy that my Savior has given me to others. Knowing my passion for teaching, I have volunteered at several local youth groups and personally tutor students with their academic works. I love seeing students discover their own unique passion through daily experiences.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Hung
People have asked me about my decision of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. I always tell them that I have read and pray about the Church doctrines. The reason that I know Mormonism is true because of the feelings I have received every time I read my scriptures. I always tell people that reading the Holy Bible is considered to be the message of God. For me, reading the Book of Mormon is exactly like the Holy Bible. Every time I read my Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon, I always get emotional when I think of my Savior. Going to different Churches and read books about Christianity did not have the same effect compare to when I read the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. In my experience, the more I read about the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible, I gain knowledge that I could never thought I learn after reading and studying the scriptures. Because of the Holy Spirit has given me these feelings about the church, I was able to gain a testimony that the church was restored through Joseph Smith and I was able to find that the church is the true church on earth. God knows your heart, and He does with everyone. I went through stages where I had to pray with all of my sincerity, God answers me by the power of the Holy Spirit in which it gives me the peaceful feeling within my heart. Exercising my faith regularly allows me to walk with God more each time when the Holy Spirit reveals the truth.     Show more Show less
