Hi I'm Les

I'm a husband, father, brother and son; imperfect in all, growing in each; son of God and a disciple of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in upstate New York, in the Adirondack mountains in a small community of villages of just under 10,000 people. I work full time as a night auditor at a wonderful resort which has allowed me the opportunity to coach men and women's basketball on the college level. I enjoy sports and mainly play golf in the summer, basketball in the winter and relax with an occasional water adventure. My pride and greatest joy comes from the growth and accomplishments of my wife, my daughters and my son-in-law. They are wonderful people I love to spend time with, as I do with our extended family and friends! I work two jobs because we live in a challenging economy, as does my wife, so we really enjoy what time we have with loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was a baby, so I was raised in the Mormon faith, guided by the light and testimonyof my parents. I vividly remember my senior year of high school when my belief and faith in Jesus grew from believing them into believing the witnesses of the Holy Spirit. It was a slow realization, but one that dawned with the clarity of a beautiful spring day! In May of 1974, while in the midst of fasting and prayer, my mind and heart was overcome by the Spirit of God to the personal witness that God, Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live, that Jesus was born, died and was resurrected so you and I could follow Him and through our acceptance of His atonement we could through Him return to live with Him and Our Heavenly Father. I have felt and continue to feel the Spirit witness to my heart and mind that the Father and Son appeared to Joseph Smith and called this young man in his youth to become the prophet foretold of in scripture to aide in the "restoration of all things" in this dispensation of the "fullness of times." I know that as in days of old, Christ still calls good men to be prophets of warning and messingers of the gospel of salvation; and that prophet today is Thomas Monson. I am grateful for God's word in scripture and I believe His word is found in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price and in the recorded words of His prophets and apostles that He has called in our day! I humbly, yet boldly testify to you that God lives!, that His Son, Jesus the Christ, the Creator of Heaven and Earth came to this earth that He created to live as man but die as the Annointed of the Father, that He rose the third day and broke the chains of death that you and I can through His merits and grace be reunited with Him in the presence of Our Heavenly Father, I share this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I fall short in many ways, but I try to serve others by sharing talents that I have learned, techniques that I have applied and experiences I have gathered - whether it be in church service, coaching sports or helping fiends and neighbors in my community. I share a daily quote at work, teach occasionally at church and share exercise tips for weekly workouts. I always try to have an open ear and a friendly word for everyone I meet.
