Hi I'm Allison

I am an observant, witty, family-loving, rain-loving, friend-loving college-aged girl and I'm a Latter-day Saint.

About Me

I'm currently working full-time and loving my job. I love playing and watching sports, eating sno-cones, eating pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and making sure people are smiling. Watching the rain, smelling that rain, canyoneering, hiking, 4-wheeling, rappelling, venturing out, blazing new trails, and making homemade ice cream are among the innumerable things that make me happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have a personal conviction and testimony of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I knelt down, I prayed, and I received my answer, at the most random time, while I was reading Joseph Smith's testimony at the front of the Book of Mormon. I know Heavenly Father lives. His Son, Jesus Christ, lives. They love us on such an intimate and divine level, and they know us so much better than we know ourselves.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? The only way to "live" a faith is to make it who you are. We constantly have to use our agency (our ability to choose) to choose to pattern our lives after Christ's life. So what did Christ do and what does He do now? He serves, He loves, He pushes us to become our best selves, He obeys, He comforts, etc., etc., etc. We fall short in every single way as imperfect humans, but luckily the Lord gives us so many opportunities to serve and love and comfort those around us. As far as my personal calling, or opportunity to serve, in the Church, I have the privilege of serving with the Relief Society. The Relief Society is the women's organization of taking care of each other, making sure everyone is okay, and strengthening each other's faith. I have learned so much about the ladies around me and also about myself. It's incredible how Heavenly Father opens our eyes to ourselves as we go out and immerse ourselves in the service of others.
