Hi I'm Shawn

I am a college student. I am married to the sweetest girl on the planet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending college, studying exercise science. I hope to go to Physical Therapy school afterwards. I have been married for almost a year, and we have our first child on the way here any day now :) I love sports- basketball and golf are my favorites. I also love just spending time with my wife. We like to eat a lot. We usually end up laughing a lot while we eat. We also like to play games, and watch movies together. When I somehow find a spare moment between school, homework, volunteering, and family time, I like to read and play the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

The big reason I am a Mormon is because it is true! I've read the Book of Mormon, and I've prayed to ask God if it is true. I've received an answer that it is. There are countless other things that confirm to me that this is Christ's church on the Earth once more- the exact same church that He established while He performed his ministry. Not only is it true, but it is the way to happiness. I know that by following Christ's teachings, and through the fellowship we can find in the church, we can be as happy as possible in this life. That's really what God wants for us- happiness. We are His children, and everything He's done is for us to be happy. His commandments are a road-map to happiness. Even when we deviate from the course God's given us, we can be forgiven thanks to Jesus Christ's atonement, and we can start over, and try again. Isn't that awesome? So to sum it up, I am a Mormon because I want to do what is right, I want to follow God, and I want to be happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to do what Jesus Christ would do if he were here right now. As I go through my classes, and while I volunteer at different Physical Therapy locations, I try my best to show others the love and appreciation that they need. I am grateful for the opportunity to have a job where I get to heal people one day, since the Savior did that while He was on the Earth. While I work on healing their physical maladies, I try to alleviate their pain that is of a different nature through being a friend and listening ear. In my church I work as an activities coordinator. We put together fun things for the members around us to do each month. I also play the piano for my congregation. I think one of the best ways I can live my faith is by giving my wife the love that she needs. I know that my Heavenly Father wants me to treat this special daughter of His with the utmost respect, so I try my best to do that each day.
