Hi I'm Russell

I was homeschooled and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm on my mission in Oklahoma right now, which is awesome. Back home I used to just have fun with friends. We went to Disneyland and the beach alot. I worked and went to community college. I learned ASL through church and also a little bit through school. I was homeschooled since grade school as well. I met most of my friends through homeschooling and I loved it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents were both members but I really started to get a testimony for myself from seminary a morning scripture study class for highschoolers and from preparing for my mission. We were asked in seminary to go home and pray as if we are really talking to our Heavenly Father. I did and such an incredible feeling came over me that I knew he was there listening. That was the start of my testimony. Since I started preparing for my mission and now that I'm here it's just continued to grow. I've seen people's lives change for the better as they accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is real and that it was restored through Joseph Smith in these last days. It's a huge blessing to be out here sharing it with people so that they can enjoy the same blessings I had growing up. There really isn't anything that brings more joy than serving others and that's what I'm out on my mission doing.

How I live my faith

Well when I was home we had a scout program for church and I was able to do alot of service through that. For my Eagle project we cleaned up alot of very old headstones at a cemetery near home. At church right before my mission I was asked to teach a church class to a young man who was deaf. We talked about different things from serving others to faith in Jesus Christ. That was a great opportunity that prepared me for my mission and now that I'm out here in Oklahoma I have tons of opportunities to live my faith through sharing it with others and just helping people with anything they need. We go around not just asking people if we can teach them but also asking if we can help them in any way. We're sincere about that. We really just want to help.
