Hi I'm Steven

I ride dirt bikes, enjoy the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20 year old male who loves being out doors. I currently am an advertising agent for a home security company. I Enjoy riding dirt bikes, wakeboarding, surfing, hiking, Spending time with my family, friends, and members of my church. I also am training to be a firefighter, hopefully for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It's rare for me to have a bad day, or a bad week, and often even a bad hour. My life is just filled of moments meant to be enjoyed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, and have been attending my whole life, but there were some key expiriences that allowed me to come to know of the true church of God. I guess for me though, the biggest reason I continue to attend this church is because at the age of 12 there was an expirience where I was out riding my motorcycle alone, and I got into trouble. Because of the teachings I had learned in This church growing up, i knew that if I prayed, God, our loving Heavenly Father, could provide a way for me to return home in safety. At that time I excersized faith in the power of prayer, I got on my knees and prayed. In no more than a minute, my answer came. A young man with his girlfriend were driving down this desolate mountain road, and were able to help me retrieve my motorcycle, and ultimately return home in safely. From that day untill now, I have known that I had a father in heaven, who hears and answers my prayers. From that day untill now I have never offered a prayer, and not received an answer. I know that there is a God, That he speaks to us today, And that when we have questions, Answers can be found. I Made the choice on that day, when my prayer was answered, that I was going to follow the councel given in the bible, I was going to find the "one lord, one faith, and one baptism". Once again, months later, after great study and prayer, I got on bended knee, I asked my father in heaven if The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints was the lords church on the earth, if the scriptures that this church believes in, are in fact the word of god, including the book of mormon. As i received the most definate Answer, yes, it is. I have dedicated myself to humbly serving in whatever capacity my lord and savior would asked me to serve in ever since. There has never been a doubt in my mind since that day. I know the church of jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be true, it is christs church, and it does offer the fullness of the everlasting gospel.

How I live my faith

I have completed serving a two year full time mission for my church in the great American mid west. I find no greater joy than having the oppertunity to daily dedicate myself to sharing the things I love most in life. The church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is by far the thing I love most in Life. I love the knowlege I have received through its teachings, and I love the comfort of knowing I have a Father in heaven who loves me, cares for me, and will do everything within his power, if I let him, to bring me happiness.

How does the Church finance its operations?

In our church, we believe strongly in the commandment to Pay tithes, being 10 percent of our increase to the work of the lord. This tithing is the lords money, it does not go into the hands of eclesiastic leaders, its used for the building, maintaning, and strengthening of our meating houses and the members within it. These funds help unify the ward by allowing a place to worship, hymn books to allows us to worship through the spoken word, and the ability to have weekly activities for the youth of the church. Tithing allows scriptures to be given to those who desire to learn and feast upon the word of God. Quite litterally, the church is supported because of the righteous sacrifices of its members, and the devinely lead distribution of those sacred funds. Because the church is founded and run on a non paid ministry, it allows the sacrefices of tithing to fully be offered unto the lord, for HIS purpose, of helping HIS children. How greatful I am that even as a young child, I was able to donate a mere few pennies, but was able to help support the lords kindom, and the meetinghouse that I so greatly enjoyed each sunday. I'm thankful to know that tithing is used as a means of strengthening our faith, and offering us places and ways to worship. Show more Show less
