Hi I'm Chase Gubler

I grew up in a busy city and struggled with the stresses of gangs and violence around. I made it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 and living at home. I am unemployed and want to go to school. Each day is a struggle since I care for my father and try to help him as much as I can. I don't always know what to do but I trust in the Lord to help me through each day and to help me on my way.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church but I simply didn't care about it. It felt forced on me from my parents. When I was asked if I was going on a mission I had to say yes and so when I made the preparations I was able to go. While I was being trained for the task of being a full time missionary I was asked by someone if I KNOW the Book of Mormon is true... to which the only reply was that I believed it was but as to "knowing" I didn't... This caused deep reflection and I decided that I needed to find out... Not cause they asked but cause I felt something in me telling me I needed to find out... I spent days trying to read the scriptures, praying more than I ever had, and just trying to get an answer from God... But it didn't come immediately like I expected. Finally one day almost a week later I was teaching someone about the church so I could learn what to do... but at the end of this meeting the young woman we were sharing with asked me and the man I was with how we knew the Book of Mormon was true... At the specific moment a rush of feelings and emotions came over me letting me know that I've always known... I had simply forgotten... from that day till now almost 2 1/2 years later... I know why I'm a Mormon.... Feelings from God told me I knew and do know the teaching of the Church to be true... That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Since returning home from my 2 year service as a missionary I've been called to work with the Young Men of my ward. I try to let them know I understand their feelings of not wanting to do anything with church and I try to help them realize that its the best thing for them. I love singing as well in many of the ward and stake choir functions so that as well I hope is able to reach someone who needs to hear those "angel voices" that are always there when we sing.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Chase Gubler
Normally the person that is serving has worked enough to pay for themselves to serve for that time... so in a way we pay for ourselves to go out for those 2 years. Our families if possible support us when they can but as well there is the missionary fund that the church uses to help those who don't have support but can't afford to go on their own. We as church members also donate and help whenever we can by adding to that fund. Show more Show less
