Hi I'm Robert

I'm a Mormon, and I look forward to getting to know you.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 4 children, 3 boys and one new little girl. I am a Registered Nurse and a Nursing Administrator in a hospital in the great NW. I am the go-to person between nurses and our IT Staff in support of our Electronic Medical Record EMR. I also volunteer in a local Mormon-based choir and really enjoy sharing my testimony through music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that Heavenly Father loves me, and loves all of us. He loves us so much that he wants us to return to his presence. In order to do that, he created a plan - the Plan of Salvation. Central to that plan is Jesus Christ and His Atonement, which was performed on our behalf so that we can overcome the obstacles that would normally prevent us from returning to Our Father's presence. An important step in the Plan is to make the covenants and gospel of Jesus Christ available to us in these latter days. This is also known as the Restored Gospel, and through it we have all the knowledge and "tools" we need to be happy and to ensure that we can overcome sin, rely on Christ's Atonement, and fulfill the covenants that God has extended to His children. I know these things are true, and I know because I have read the scriptures, listened to the prophets, and I have felt the Holy Ghost, which has confirmed the truth of these things to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by regular and consistent/daily personal and family prayer, and by regular and consistent/daily personal and family scripture study. I attend church every Sunday, and volunteer in callings and assignments when asked. I also serve my family and friends and neighbors.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

In reality, the world is the world and we really can't stop the spread of pornography. It will always grow no matter what we do. That said, we don't have to invite it into our lives. In fact, we must do all we can to shun it. Knowing that pornography will always exist, we often use software, filters, and secret passwords to temporarily stop someone from looking at pornography, but this will not extinguish their desire or curiosity to look when they have the chance. What we need to do as members of the church and parents and community members is to teach our children to rely on the Holy Ghost the Spirit - the really one and only "filter" that will help us stop the influence of pornography. When we live, and teach others to live, by the Spirit and seek it fiercely, and then when we are put in situations when we are tempted by pornography, the Spirit will guide us and we will be able to overcome those temptations that come upon us. Each situation that we come off as victor will make our testimony stronger. Show more Show less
