Hi I'm Chameng

I was born in Thailand, fled to Denver, Co., ended up in Fresno, Ca., and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Thailand in a refugee camp. The beginning of a wonderful journey of a life to the United States of America. "A Choice Land, A Chosen Land" President Gordon B. Hinckley. With the break of the Vietnam War, my family fled to Thailand where I was born and shortly after we were fortunate enough to be granted THE opportunity to come to the United States. As much as it was a blessing to be in a free country . . . . the family missed home. We would go through years of trying and disappointing times. I would end up going to 3 elementary school in Fresno, Ca where I now looking back saw how it shaped my understanding of life in the America. I was blessed to have a loving mother and a wise father, who through their struggles taught me through example what it means to "be strong of good courage." My dad once to me after an incident, "son, if you tell me the truth you will not be punished." I told the truth, I was not punished. The lesson continues stay with me. My mom continues to love and support all that I do. Although, not a Mormon. She has had wonderful spiritual experiences with the love and blessing of our Heaven Father. She is a strong supporter of me being a Christian and more specifically, a Mormon Christian. She came to my Baptism 2/8/1998, all my children's baby blessing and both my son's Baptism Devyn now 11 and Nathan 10. She will be there also this year at Emma's baptism turning 8 this year and when Sara now 2 gets baptize. The best part of my life started when I began dating a Kaying Lee toward the end of our Junior year at Roosevelt High School. Home of the Rough Riders. She had been a member her whole life in the United States since her journey to The Promise land. We've seen each other through Freshman and Sophomore year but it was only a Hi here and there. But one day in my Junior year, I felt something different this time when I saw her coming towards me in the West wing hallway. It was like slow motion, we made eye contact, she walked towards me, broke eye contact as she exit the double doors and walked up the stairs. The whole time I was staring and feeling something different. This was the beginning of an eternal relationship. We would end up walking those stairs together to our computer class all through our Senior year. I would be her dancing partner in a Hmong group of dancers the latter part of our Junior year in December during Hmong New Year. She would end up stopping wearing Hmong Clothes to the New Year like she has done every year prior with her mom. This was HUGE....and another story for another day. I would end up taking Missionary Lessons. Attending something called church for an amazing 3 hours. I have changed for good and didn't even realize it. I would grow closer to a missionary, an Elder Renzetti from Canada. Who loved motorcycles as I did. We would connect in ways only the Lord knows. We would end up making a promise to each other as best friends would. We kept our promise, he and his girl friend was able to attend our wedding in Fresno, Ca after MY HIGH SCHOOL sweetheart and I were sealed at the San Diego Temple and we were able to be part of their wedding at the Oakland Temple. My sweetheart and I now have 4 choice children and a beautiful life that all started because the WILL of the Lord was with my family. Chameng
