Hi I'm Jamie
I am a wife & mother. I have been blessed with my kids through the blessing of adoption. I sing and play guitar. I am a mormon
I was born and raised in Texas, and had fabulous parents who raised me in the church. I did not live in an area where there were alot of Mormons, so at times it was challenging. However, for me, it only made me and my faith stronger. As of right now, I live in Arizona, and I've been married to my husband, Britton, for 8 years! We have been trying to have children for 7 years with no avail, however we have been immensley blessed to be able to adopt out two daughters. We have a 3 year old girl, and a 10 month old girl. We actually used the church's adoption agency! We were able to bring our girls home right from the hospital. It has been a HUGE blessing! We are eternally gratful to their birth parents. I LOVE music, and love to play the guitar and sing. Music just makes me happy and touches me so deeply. I love reading, baking, going camping, and really enjoy working out. I have a major sweet tooth, with my weakness being chocolate!
I was lucky enough to be raised as a Mormon, however that isn't necessarily why I'm a Mormon. I had to figure out the "Why" on my own. Every person has to be converted on their own at some point. I always knew that the church was good, and was what I was supposed to do. I was 100 % converted when I went to college though. I was away from my friends, my parents influence, and didn't know a soul there! I was so scared! However I relied on the Lord to help me through it. Through lots of prayer and pondering, I discovered/confirmed for myself what I always thought.....the church is true. It was something I could just feel. I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ, the Atonement, and of the miracle of forgiveness. I can't imagine where I would be without the church in my life. I think of that all the time, and feel so lucky to have the knowledge I have. I owe all that I have and all that I am to my Heavenly Father, and so I will give all I have to Him. I am so thankful for the Holy Ghost that helps lead me, and gives me comfort when I most need it. It has really been the most useful precious gift ever given to me.
I try to be an example of Christ in my everyday life. I love to participate in church activities. One way for me to serve my church and be an example is in helping an awesome group of 10 year old girls reach some of their goals. I meet with the girls, and organize activities twice a month for an hour. They are given a special booklet of ideas/goals and how they can make them happen. Their goals are separated into 3 separate catagories Serving Others, Developing Talents, & Learning and Living the Gospel. I try and make the activities fun as well as educational and spiritual.
