Hi I'm David

I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I have been an electrical engineer for over 15 years. Married for over 20 years and a father of 5 children. I enjoy the outdoors, most sports, and vacations at the beach. I have had the opportunity to raise my youngest child born with down syndrome.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were the first in my immediate family to join the church while living in Alaska. I have been Mormon all my life. It has brought me great peace and joy. I have always felt that because of my beliefs I have understood my purpose in life and that has been a great source of peace and direction in my life.

How I live my faith

My gospel foundation helped me to decide early that I should improve myself in all areas possible throughout my life. It influenced me therefore, to attend college. It has helped me to live with integrity and honesty. It has influenced me to look around to see how I can aid and assist others. It made me want to have a large family that I could raise and also that I could spend time with as I grew old. Gospel teachings influenced the attributes that I looked for in a wife and the attributes that I developed to bring into marraige. Through active church attendance I have been given many opportunities to continue to develope my qualities and abilities. I have taught young children, assisted in cub and boy scouts. I have taught youth and teenagers as well as adults. I have assisted in providing for the needy and sick. I have been part of large and small service projects of many various kinds, that have benefited hundreds or sometimes while other times a single individual. I love the fact that there will never be a time in my life that there will not be opportunity and need for my service due to my church affiliation.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

David
It is a health code that is given by the Lord to bless us both physically and spiritually. I am so greatful for this teaching and that I have had its influence for my entire life. What a blessing that God would teach us how to take care of our bodies by revealing both beneficial foods to be eaten and harmful substances to avoid such as alcohol and tobacco. I have never once had to worry about the penalities of drunk driving, harming a family member due to a drugs control, or losing my employment due to an addiction, there are just too many positives to list. Because I follow God's law, he also blesses me with an ability to obtain, understand and retain knowledge, both with his word through the sciptures and it study, but also in my employment and my skills and abilities.
