Hi I'm Jens

I'm a college student. I love to spend time with my wife. I fly fish often and"I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I'm a Mormon. I'm married. I love the outdoors and all of the activities to be had in nature. I rock climb, I'm an avid fly fisherman and I love catching natural trout of all types. I'm a university student. I like to think of myself as an artist and a musician when I can squeeze it into my schedule.

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of about 15 I wanted to be happier. To see this desire fulfilled I decided that each summer night I would read from The Book of Mormon in my hammock by the light of my headlamp. The time that I spent alone with that book that brings so many to know the savior is of extreme value to me. I started to find joy in life and I changed the things that made me unhappy. I removed myself from those that may have influenced me down a bad path and I found excellent friends that taught me to know that the joys in life come from a closeness to God. I started the habit of studying from God's word, The Bible and The Book of Mormon each day. When the time came for me to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I was prepared to go. I was called to serve in the Ohio, Cincinnati Mission. I spent two years teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ every day, rain or shine. I had come to know that Jesus Christ was my savior and that through repentance or by simply changing for the better I had come closer to him. With this knowledge I was prepared to invite the wonderful people of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana to experience a relationship with Jesus Christ through faith in Him, through repentance, baptism, and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he is my savior. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. I know that we can find peace and joy in a troubled world through Faith in Christ, Repentance, Baptism, and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. To know Jesus Christ is to know true joy.

How I live my faith

My faith lies in Jesus Christ and I study from The Bible and The Book of Mormon everyday. I pray to God for direction and to give thanks to him daily as well. I try my best to be a good person and brighten the lives of those around me. My church service brings me great joy. I have the opportunity to organize home teaching visits. I also organize basketball games, outdoor activities, and see that members of the congregation I'm a part of are provided for spiritually and in some cases physically when the needs arise. I'm trying to be like Jesus and it makes me extremely happy.
